Re: Where do the sheepshead go?

They’re like Specks in my experience. They’re always out there just not schooled up in the most streamlined spot.

Re: Frogging

I love frog gigging but I’ve gotten so dang sorry I about don’t go do anything fishing related at night anymore. It would be a good summer for it though with all the backwater.

Re: This forum is dead

I went and loaded up on bream one good time. Then another time I went stomping and brought home 2 Warmouth and a fat Stumpknocker that I hated to keep he was so big but I was hungry. Then I went a time before and came home empty handed back in like the first week of April when the night before weath...

Re: When you find them

I don’t get to go in the winter but from what I’ve seen on FB it was been killer. Redfish after redfish. I’ve seen more Redfish pictures than deer or hog pictures for the first time ever I think.

Re: Cajun Sleigh spinner

Yeah alot of people do that with soft plastics. I think that Sleight thing would be killer though. I always thought a Little George would be killer on the flats, just not our flats because we’d stay hung on the rocks. The Sleigh looks like it eliminates that by less than 100% but still a lot.

Cajun Sleigh spinner

Has anybody ever used these? I know people think a lot of those corks and even include them in their fishing reports. These spinners seem to me like a combination of 2 basic ideas that would make 1 killer idea. I can’t believe I didn’t think of it.

Re: Stinking winnnnnnd

Yeah I catch the heck out of mullet…………when conditions are right. They haven’t been right this year and there’s no tweaking to catch atleast 1 like you might fishing for anything else, not in my experience anyway. I’m actually sitting down here at Goose Pasture now in the truck. This place is just s...

Re: Stinking winnnnnnd

8-8-23 mullet fishing at Goose Pasture in this same wind that I just don’t understand. I mean what in the ^%*$ is this stuff in the middle of the summer. It finally started raining and I was so mad I refused to leave and waited it out thinking it would be calm after the storm. It was…for about 20 mi...

Re: Are the good times really over?..

Trout are absolutely abused in the winter. We’ve discussed that many times. Redfish are also abused even though it’s unheard of among us. Then there’s the Wacissa River which I can’t stand to look at for a long time after it starts at The Head as everybody whose abused it for so long has swore up an...

Re: Hagens Cove in high water

My boat trip was a success. I brought 10 bream home and caught a bunch more. A big bass came after my bream lure but I purposely snatch it away and into the boat because he just would have broke off. I hung another big bass and he didn’t break off but he slung the lure with a half a head turn so eve...

Re: Hagens Cove in high water

I’ll plead temporary insanity on this one, but not because it wasn’t the most efficient idea to go and catch fish. I explained why I wanted to go try anyway. The insane idea was going there this weekend. THIS weekend lol! That wouldn’t have been a good idea at all for my style of fishing and trounci...

Hagens Cove in high water

Time for another round of questions :smt006 :smt006 :smt006 We’re to the point that I have to go and do something different, even if it won’t amount to anything. I’ve read here about Hagens Cove over the years about the shallow water, the scallops, etc but I’ve never been there. So with all of this ...

It’s been a weird spring and summer. The blandest that I can ever remember even.

Stinking winnnnnnd

:smt048 :smt048 :smt048 The last 3 times I’ve been fishing the wind has been worse than the dang flats in March. Granted I was in 3 of the wide spots where it happens, but I’d never seen it like this in June. 2 of the times I was hanging out on the dock at Nutall Rise waiting for mullet. The first t...
