I wish I had more specific information, but this might give you a starting point.

Re: Chirp Chirp

I hear ya about sit on the flush. I am trying to work on that with Belle and remaining steady to flush. I've found it tougher to teach a pointy dog as me being the only person working a dog than it is to teach a flushing dog. However, I did teach my old lab to sit when Steve's (hunting partner) sett...

Re: Hello. Good Sunday evening

I'm sorry to hear about your health issues. I hope they get straightened out quickly.

I hear ya on wanting to see things picking up....I often look forward to the fall pictures posted from hunters up north. I miss having good fall colors so have to get my "fix" somehow....

Re: Chirp Chirp

Thanks y'all.

Drake was a fine one for sure.

I am getting very excited. November 3 I will be picking up my started pup, Reggie, and him and Belle and I will be heading off to Nebraska for some bird hunting.

Re: Chirp Chirp

Belle does indeed enjoy her job. I have never worked springer spaniels, further than 30 yards, when flushing birds. At that distance they are trained to turn and sit at flush. Not much experience with pointers, most of my game shooting has either been driven birds, or walked up flushing. My lab was ...

Re: Chirp Chirp

The collar is mainly used for gps for keeping track of Belle. It also alerts when she is on point. She's pretty little for a setter (at least compared to the ones I have seen) and here in FL, it is easy to "lose" her in the surrounding vegetation. I also travel out west with her and she ra...

Re: 220 miles....

My dad used to go diving out of Jacksonville, spear fishing. He would regularly come back with flounder out of deep water. Some were pretty dang big, but others were about the same size as the ones I would catch in the salt marsh.

2.5 hours....not so bad if you aren't being beat up by the water.

Re: Keys Question

There is a gentleman I know on another forum and I can't for the life of me remember his last name. However, he goes by DTB on upland journal. I contacted him to see if he is still a guide down in the keys and this is how he responded: Yes Dani, I’m a lifer. Thanks for thinking of me. Not sure when ...

Re: Aggravating Toms

I hear ya on aggravating toms. I have had a good number of opportunities but this year, they all seem to be coming in in totally the opposite direction I am set up in. I have been sitting there and turned my head and THERE HE IS!!!! Once about 20 ft from me....no way I could swing around on him befo...
