Re: How to catch bait from a dock?
If you throw a shrimp out does it get pecked away? If not then there are no pinfish. Also it’s pretty cold. There may be fewer pinfish around right now. They seem to vacate the flats when it’s freezing. You might have more luck in a couple months. Those are just my first thoughts.

Have you been stopping at crab trap floats and the like looking for triple tail? They usually haunt that area.

Re: Scalloping....
Ken, I have one. You have to be clean shaven or it will not stick. I have gone back to my old standard mask and snorkel. Also the thing that was more worrying to me was reading reviews of ppl who took shallower breathes and the co2 built up in the mask and caused complications. Sounded pretty scary....

Re: Targeting Flounder
That’s fine with me. 12 inch flounder barely have any meat on them and 10 per person is too many unless you are commercially harvesting them. 15 inches is starting to be a good fish. Flounder are deliscous!!

Re: Interesting read on Mercury levels in fish going up agai
Since the scrubbers are already installed what is the point in rolling back the regulations? Just curious on your take. Would there be a financial reason for any of the plants to remove them again?

Article about the decline and rebirth of reds in Texas
I remember watching nets form a horseshoe shape to the shore in Seagrove beach as a child and watching them keep everything. I also remember the rebound when they passed the net ban. I enjoyed this read about the fight for the net ban in Texas as well as the rebound of Reds and trout. Also, how flou...

Re: Interesting read on Mercury levels in fish going up agai
Did you read the article? It said that the emissions are down which correlated with a reduction in Mercury along with a reduction in particulate matter from the coal plants. It said that if the plants reverted back to the old rules then Mercury would increase again.

Good tip Bman. The dark lines on the meat never taste good. A little extra work at the fillet table is worth it at the dinner table. I didn’t realize I was cutting out contaminants too.

Interesting read on Mercury levels in fish going up again
Thought some of you might find this interesting about the relaxing of rules for coal powered energy plants and the increased release of particulate matter and mercury into the environment
