I've had both a 15 foot jon boat and a Gheenoe LT-25. (still have the Gheenoe)
I can't say I felt any safer in the Jon boat. Both will work for creek fishing out of the Lighthouse. Neither would be suitable for Ochlochnee Bay. You have to think in terms of "protected water" with these boats. Don ...

Re: Lower Ochlockonee Paddle Trail and fly fishing trip
Thanks fellas, I really appreciate you taking the time to check it out! I recently moved to Austin, TX for a new job, it'll likely be about a 2 year period so I'm now pretty far away from the awesome rivers and inshore fishing we have there. I'll have to live through you guys while I'm here.

Lower Ochlockonee Paddle Trail and fly fishing trip
A good bit ago I posted a WTB ad on this site for a canoe (pasted below), needless the say I found one and ended up doing the trip. There was some interest in me posting the trip after I was done so I figured I would as I finally did a write up. It is on my personal blog, I hope the mods don't mind ...

Re: WTB Canoe
Thanks! I'll certainly take pics, I didn't last time I took the trip and it's certainly something that I regret. I definitely won't make the same mistake this trip and I appreciate your offer of help.

Re: WTB Canoe
Thanks for your reply! Yeah, I've considered renting one and I certainly will if I can't find one before then.... the only problem is the amount of days I'll be renting. You start to get up there near the price of buying one if you can find a deal, plus it'd be nice to have one for future trips too ...

WTB Canoe
I'm looking to buy a canoe for an upcoming paddling trip where I am canoeing the Ochlockohnee River from the Dam to the Bay; my price range is somewhat limited as I was hoping to spend between under $300 and I was hoping someone may have one laying around that they no longer have a need for. Seems ...

WTB 15hp 2-stroke
I'm looking for a 15hp 2-stroke for my highsider; I'm looking for solid and mechanically sound motors only as it will be replacing my Yamaha 2007 9.9 4-stroke and I do not want to compromise reliability. I am definitely willing to pay a fair price for a motor that meets this criteria. Either reply ...
