Re: Great Day on the South Shoal
We were planning to Tarpon fish today. It was a beautiful calm morning with a few poons rolling. We got into a school of a jillion catfish and could not keep a bait in the water. We moved about 1/4 mile and tried again.. No catfish, however a 10 ft hammerhead followed our chum line to the boat and ...

Great Day on the South Shoal
Spent a great Saturday fishing on south Shoal.. Water was stained and a little grassy. A neat weed line was present which produced some great Spanish mackerel. My wife, son, and his girl friend had a blast. She caught a 20" trout on her first cast. We used 1/8 oz. jig heads (color did not matter ...

Dog Island Reef May 17th
My wife and I left Lanark which was VERY crowded and ran to the Dog Island Reef about 2 hrs before high tide, hopefully to catch some Spanish. The water a little murky and there was a lot of floating grass. The grass made trolling a challenge! Finally after catching several blue fish and NO Spanish ...

Re: Are we allowed to fish?
Franklin county Sheriff was on WCTV last night and said that folks from Ga ("which was an infected state") need not come to Franklin County, they will be required to be quarantined for 14 days or arrested by deputies and fined if they are caught coming to Franklin County!

Re: Status of Mashes Sands Boat Ramp?
I was there last week on 7/23 and it was nice, Several boats had launched. Plumbers were still working on the bathrooms. i watched for a while as I had just taken my boat down to get some work on it so I didn't launch, but those that did had no problem. Will be back there real soon.

Keaton Beach 10-6-18
Great Day at Keaton. I have not fished here in years but my fishing buddy had gotten a good report and we decided to go there. We were not disappointed! On the second cast my friend caught a 20" trout and five minutes later I caught a 19" one. In the next 15 minutes we caught 4 more keepers between ...

Re: Whats happened to trout fishing?
It has been my experience too! I think the St Marks / Aucilla / Econfini area is a trout hatchery and when the fish grow to legal size they leave and go somewhere else. Think about the number of 14 1/2" and 14 3/4" fish you have caught over the years consistently, doesn't it stand to reason that ...
