Re: Fish finder advice needed

Just FYI Both the Garmin 94SV and the Lowrance Elite 9Ti are on sale starting today for $599.99 through Sunday, we have limited quantities so hurry in!!!! Appreciate the feedback all have given. Took me awhile to figure out the difference between the Garmin 93 and 94. The 94 has the Blue Chart Coas...

Re: Fish finder advice needed

I've owned Lowrance and Humminbird in the past. Granted, that was years ago and both brands have made major improvements. But for ease of use, Garmin still is superior for me. Garmin purchased Navionics and is integrating the cartography into its new charts. Do a search under Boating. I posted a co...

Re: Fish finder advice needed

Which charts show underwater obstructions best? Always have to putt around when operating east of Big Cove because of the pucker factor and limestone rocks. Use a Garmin 78sc handheld for now, but will upgrade at some point. Also, am an inshore guy. Beyond depth and temp. , do you really need side ...

Re: Fish finder advice needed

I will add my 2 cents worth. I have a lowrance and can attest to their horrendous customer service. When I first purchased my unit 3 years ago it would not hold bottom. After working with support for a few weeks it was finally determined I needed to send the unit back for repair/replacement. 5 week...

Re: Fish finder advice needed

I switched from Garmin to Lowrance last year and I am not sure it was a good move. The main feature I use of course is "FInd" or "Go To" Waypoint. My Garmin unit would draw a red line to the way point I entered and the boat end of that line would move with me as I traveled in th...

Re: Fish finder advice needed

Wow, those ISLA maps are expensive! I have some serious concerns about the quality of the Lowrance and product support. I’ve read lots of negative user feedback of issues with their units with little to no factory support or decent customer service. The Garmin units appear to have a more satisfied c...

Re: Fish finder advice needed

That makes me want to buy the Garmin. I can’t stand windows based computers. Are map upgrades limited with the Garmin? I was told I can’t run a Navionics card in the Garmin.

Re: Checked your measuring devise ?

I just checked my Frabil extendable bump board and it’s spot on to max measurement.

Fish finder advice needed

I’ve narrowed my search down to either the Lowrance Elite-9 Ti Total Scan or the Garmin echoMAP 93 SV. If y’all had to choose between the two, which one would you buy assuming equal price?

Re: Apalachicola River

Not sure about how fishing is. Just kayaked the entire River from the dam to Apalachicola over five days in October. Incredible trip and a beautiful river.

Why aren't ladyfish considered edible?

Fished St. Marks yesterday with a buddy and his son. My buddy caught a large ladyfish. His 15 year old son gasped when I unhooked it and returned it to the water. He didn't know which species of fish it was and when he asked he asked me why we didn't keep it, I told him they're not considered good t...

Game cam on public land

Anyone here ever place game cams on public land? If so, have you had an issue with theft or tampering?

Re: Hunt or fish?

Congratulations! Nice buck! That pic of you with the buck is making the rounds. A co worker showed it to me about two weeks ago (she didn’t know the image source) and just saw this post today.
