* Take into consideration how you will be transporting the yak. If you are having to hoist to the roof of an SUV, weight/length become significant ...

I've made that run a few times, not bad but I would at least make sure that you are not fighting the wind coming back. As the weather cools, Sand Cove and Big Cove are also excellent areas to work and an easier paddle. The long bar just off from the lighthouse is also productive on a moving tide ...
