Re: Fishing and Politics

For those of you that keep suggesting that distrust for "progressive" liberals shouldn't be discussed on this board, would like to hear your defense after reading this article from ESPN about the Obama administration weighing a ban on recreational fishing. :smt011 http://sports.espn.go.co...

Re: Congrats to the IFA Kayak tournament winners

Thanks Fellas. Pre-fished a lot of crappy conditions that paid off. I found fish exactly where and when I hoped to. Doesn't always happen that way but the minus tide plus strong NW winds really limited the possibile locations for fish.

Re: Grouper Status...?

Duh? Lot's of people have difficulty accepting any correlation between population and environmental issues. The science of actually measuring the correlation in the case of fish populations had not been done before. It is a VERY difficult thing to do. Since you seem to agree with the primary finding...

Grouper Status...?

Some very current information on fish populations: One principal finding: …nations with more people have reefs with far fewer large fish because as the number of people increases, so does demand for seafood. Ran St Joe to Panacea today and it's dark all the way. Mostly tannin but a lot of mud too.

Re: 4-8 DI Shoal, Topwater Spanish

What do you use for top water mack action? Chug Bug always with upgraded rings and hooks. It's my go to topwater for everything anyway because you can walk it as well as a Skitter/Top Dog if it's on a loop knot tied with a short piece of stiff ~50ib flouro AND, especially for Spanish, you can blow ...

4-8 DI Shoal, Topwater Spanish

To think I could have trolled Mackerel trees instead. :smt017 It is my personal goal to convince as many people as possible how much fun they can have catching Spanish on topwater. Stained water. Plenty of Anchovies.  Scattered fish but steady 25-27". http://img261.imageshack...

3/26. 27 FCKA Tournament Pre-Fishing

Saturday's Tournament was canceled. Slams (trout, redfish, flounder) Thursday and Friday. Best was Friday at 58” (Flounder 14, Redfish 24, Trout 20). Not the biggest slam but in 25 knot winds and turbid water I was more than satisfied. Both days I set up on the leeside of a bar and chummed with a lo...

Re: Spanish

I was standing in Spartina grass at the mouth of a creek Friday, near Oyster Bay, and saw a small one jump right in front of me. Crazy to see one that close to shore in March.

Nice.
It's a shame these days that most threads on this site get reduced to Jerry Springer, by the same people.
Used to be we really did talk fishing.
