Re: Are fishing regulations and enforcement, out of control?
I've been fishing out of St. Marks for seven years now, and I've been inspected by FWC only twice. Neither time was the inspection particularly thorough. I expect the officers only had so much time to spend on the water and didn't see a reason to spend any more than they had to checking my boat, but ...

SGI Area advice?
Hey all,
I'm headed to SGI state park for a six day camping trip in a few days, boating into the primitive sites. I usually fish the St. Marks area, and my only Apalachicola bay experience is on the old bridge pier. Any advice on where to try/what depths and colors? Not asking for any secret spots ...

Re: St. Marks 6/29
Thanks for the report! Sounds like a good day. when you say the grassline was holding reds, do you mean the grassline facing the bay or on the inside of the creeks? Does it matter?
Also, do you free line the baitfish or use a cork?

Re: 6/11 report - pilot whale spotted
I saw some kind of whale out west of the river in front of Wakulla Beach last fall. It was in only a few feet of water, which was surprising. Never could figure out what kind of whale it was.

Lake Miccosukee mystery
Went out to the dam on Lake Miccosukee at highway 90 today, originally in search of a geocache. However my attention was immediately redirected to the hundreds of fish congregating on the surface of the water on the south side of the dam. Catfish, bream, gar, specks, a few bass and a huge bowfin ...

St Marks river?
Hey folks,
Wanted to try up the St Marks river this weekend for a change of pace. Haven't been freshwater fishing in years. What's working?

Re: Any info on the flats?
Went out today, launched at the fort about 10:00. Fished hard with only a few shorts and one keeper trout to speak of. Fished mostly live shrimp in 2'-5' and 70-75 degrees.

Re: Any info on the flats?
Thanks for all the replies, y'all. Seems like some scattered results. Then plan is to hit grass flats in 3-5' of water and hunt for water temps in the 68-72 degree range.

Any info on the flats?
I'm making my 2015 return to salt water this weekend. I'd like to make it a good trip. Anyone know where the trout are at right now? Still too chilly for the flats?

Re: Spot tails for grouper bait
In my experience, pinfish have a louder and more frequent croak when distressed. But then maybe I've only encountered really chill spot tails. Just a thought.

New to the board, new to offshore
Hey there, BBF. Been reading y'alls psots on here for a while but this is my first post. Learned a lot from this board. I've been fishing inshore around here for a while, particularly the northern Apalachee bay area out of St. Marks in a smaller boat. We've recently acquired a larger boat (Key West ...
