Re: St Marks 10/23

Thanks Terrier for report, good day. Son and I went Sunday east of Lighthouse. I didn’t fish as we were taking a new to us 80 lb Lab on his first fishing trip and figured a stripping fly line wasn’t going to work too well until he settles a bit. Son managed some just over slot reds and just one trou...

Re: October Fly Tie Night!!

I could tie you up some clousers, deceivers, and a few other redfish patterns that will work. PM me if interested. Wouldn’t be done by tonite, but probably next week.

Re: St Marks 12/31

The worst thing to me in those conditions is that the mist keeps my glasses fogged up to where it is a pain in the ass and I’m nearly blind without them. I guess just a part of paying your dues!

Stripers

Anybody have any advice for locating stripers at Lake Tarquin or below Seminole dam? Have fished them in Chesapeake Bay, but just superficially here.

Re: St Marks 10/23

Refuge was active yesterday - water was clear and cool, but not cold. Picked up 26 trout, most 16" - 18", with two overslots at 21" and 23". Added a flounder and a few short reds. Olive over white clouser with minimal flash seemed to work best. Good for you, sounds like you had ...

Re: Lighthouse ramp

I think it’s 6 am. Should be able to with that rig. We launch our KW 1520 there with that kind of tide. The left ramp is a little better at low tides.

What I don’t get, is that they run the same water the rest of us navigate. What’s the point? I always thought they were made for gliding through the marsh… maybe I’m missing something..

Re: Missing Boater Located on St. Vincent Island

Glad he was safe. I came across an overturned boat Wed. off of Shell Pt. Phoned sheriff’s office and it had already been notified and forwarded to FWC. Looked liked the hull was recovered later by SeaTow. Saw a story from Tampa where CG rescued fisherman when a really nice skiff got swamped after an...
