Re: After Work Trip 7/14
Nothing gets a kid more excited than catching a fish. If you weren't the favorite uncle before, you are now. Ive got a nephew in his mode 30's that still talks about me taking him fishing when he was the age of those boys. Awesome!

Tracker 16 Pro V for $2,750
Moving and selling the Tracker. It's a 1990 with a 40 Evinrude. Motor Guide 45lb trolling motor. New hubs (both in the last 2 months). New seats. Two trolling motor batteries under a cooler seat in the front. This old boat isn't much to look at but a solid little fishing boat that I fish out of St. ...

Re: Trout fishing this year
I certainly don't know the answer as to where the trout have gone. I knew things were different this past winter when I fished the St. Marks river like I do every year and the Mangrove Snapper were not swarming my bait on the bottom BUT I had great success trolling gulp. There were certain areas tha...

Re: Report for St. Marks 5-31
Fished St. Marks this morning. On the water at 7:00 and off by 10:45. Nothing in 3" but got into 5" and did much better. Water was very clear. Shrimp under a poplin cork. Several short trout and two keepers 17" and 18". Didn't have time for the Clark spoon so no Spanish. Fresh ca...

Re: 3623 Members and hardly any reports??
On the water at 7:00 yesterday just east of the light house (in front of the cell tower) between 3 and 4 feet of water. Caught 3 trout (2 shorts and 1 keeper). Shrimp under a popping cork. Caught a couple of cats and my fishing buddy had a big spanish hit a pin fish but didn't hook up.The usual lady...

Re: 3623 Members and hardly any reports??
Couldn't agree more. Im fairly new to the forum but I am VERY grateful to those who share after a trip on the water. I spent most of my life fishing fresh water and only started inshore fishing a few years ago ( with deep regrets of the years I missed chasing trout, redfish etc). Collectively, the m...

Crazy idea. Anybody ever tried this?
Looks like the weather is gonna be perfect tomorrow and Im going to make the run from the light house. Im seeing Spanish on the flats in fairly good numbers. Going to try trolling a Clark spoon on the flats under a cork just shallow enough to keep it out of the grass. Trolling motor will push the bo...

Re: St Marks Pinfish?
After using shrimp, squid, gulp, bacon and just about everything else, Ive discovered a great pen fish bait. Fried (or microwaved) hot dogs. Cut into tiny pieces and cooked till hard. The freaking pen fish go nuts! I always cut the top hooks off my Sabiki (leaving the bottom three hooks) and loaded ...

Re: From the flats to St. Marks reef (almost)
Bluewave, It's not but a few miles past the last channel marker. It's on the Top Spot map for the area. Artificial reef. Concrete culverts and tires I think.

From the flats to St. Marks reef (almost)
Wife and I ran out this morning at first light with plans of fishing the St. Marks reef. Made a quick stop in front of the lighthouse to catch some pin fish and picked up a keeper trout on live shrimp and a good size lady fish (good for cut bait if nothing else). Ran out to the reef (almost). Dive b...

Re: PANFISH
Put in a Shields or the fort. Turn left as you pass the first bend in the river, start working the tree trunks against the bank. Crickets on a small hook (no sinker) and a small cork. I usually do better when the water is higher and plenty of water around the trees. Ive rarely fished there without c...
