Re: Live bait stores in Apalach??
Bay City Lodge in Apalach has live bait, but Fisherman's Choice in Eastpoint is a better choice.

Re: River mouths and Creek questions
It doesn't make any difference where you catch them. In the state of Florida , they are recognized as a fresh water species and are regulated by "freshwater" regulations. What if you're fishing the mouth of Owl Creek at Sumatra, and catch a sheepshead? Are you going to try and tell a warde...

Re: River mouths and Creek questions
I always cringe when I see this type of question on the internet, because invariably a well meaning poster will give out some bad information. White, striped and sunshine bass are fresh water species and require a fresh water license. http://www.eregulations.com/florida/fishing/freshwater/florida-fr...

Re: GPS Bottom Machine Question
You should be able to downloaded the hwr files on on the SD card into another HB machine and use them. You could prove that by loading onto a friend's. machine or lacking that a demo machine at Bass Pro. In response to Scoop Sea's comment...I always format any storage device before down loading data...

Re: GPS Bottom Machine Question
HB writes waypoints & routes to a .hwr file and tracks to a .ht file. If you're going to reload or load into another HB machine, there is no reason to open them or convert them. If you plan on changing machines, you can use a freeware program like GPSBable to handle the conversion.

Re: West Pass question
What kind of boat do you have and what is your experience level in open water? West Pass is a good area to target tarpon. There is a deep hole between Sand Island and St. Vincent that typically holds fish this time of the year, also a lot of big sharks. You can see the hole on any chart. You can als...

Re: livewell failure = expensive dead bait = short fishing t
I want a livewell that doesn't fill & drain at the same level . I prefer a well that fills from the both the top & bottom. This prevents ammonia and other wastes from accumulating in the bottom of the tank and creating a "dead zone". Just because you have a 50 gallon tank, doesn't ...

Re: livewell failure = expensive dead bait = short fishing t
Over crowding of bait/ inadequate water flow. Most people try to put too much bait in a livewell, plus the average built in livewells are poorly designed.

Any of the ditches in Tate's Hell. I'd use a trap or a pig's foot on a string and a dip net.

Re: Paul Browns softbait lures for saltwater
They are great baits and have been used on the Texas coast for "big" trout for as long as I can remember. We fished them in surf on Padre Island in the 60s. One of the original suspending twitch bails. I still have and use the original "Corkies" as they were known before L&S ...
