pro vs. con
I've got a 50/30hp honda with a jet foot on my 16' AL boat. You need to seriously ask yourself "how shallow do I really need my boat to go". I still use the smaller size popping corks that are weighted. On a calm day nothing beats a good solid "pop" to get attention. I've been thinking about the thunder for days when the wave action makes a popping cork useless for anything but a float. If you go "old school", you won't be dissappointed.

Boat and motor service
I've got a Honda on a Weldbuilt, last year I had Shields tune it up and paid alot for a little. The work was bare bones and some things I asked them to do never got touched. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good Honda shop? Also any opinions on Indian Pass marina?
