St. Marks bird rack
So yesterday I went out to the sandbar to unwind with some company and was shocked to see the bird rack has been chopped down to just 4 posts cut clean about 4 feet above the bottom rung. The light was moved from the old point to the top of one of the stubbs. There was a coast guard buoy tender vess...

Re: St Marks boat accident
Heading back in around 6pm I saw a fire truck and some law enforcement at the ramp with lights on. There was one fwcc boat (blue lights on) in the river 2 miles +/- south of the fort with a few boats pulled over (witnesses maybe? ) but didn't see much more going on than that. Sad to hear that happen...

Re: Serious debris west of lighthouse
That last pic with the sailboat is a interesting (pathetic) story. That along with a 20+ foot older walkaround were left tied up to the owners dock as if no storm was coming. No prep or attempt to move them whatsoever. Saw it left as it always was when I was clearing my dock. I told my old lady abou...

Re: COTTON MOUTH / St Marks
No fish that afternoon but the conditions were not favorable to keep trying. We were pulled up about 20 yards from shore at first. He was definitely much closer to land. He was 100+ yards from shore by the time he got real close. I went out again yesterday and saw numerous people wading out in the s...

COTTON MOUTH / St Marks
I wanted to share what my young boys and I encountered yesterday. My 13 year-olds baseball practice ran a little late yesterday afternoon. The original plan was to get out to St Marks by about 3 and do some fishing for a few hours. Well 3 turned into 5 before we got there but my 10 year old was hell...

Re: St Marks day to remember
Thanks for the comments fellas. I have a new found respect for a species I know little about. Very smart and determined. She tried using about every buoy in the area as a source of freedom. That beauty would not and did not give up at all. We were all just glad to see she swam away tired but healthy...
