Fished the park today to see if the pompano were coming through. Very slow. Caught 2 keeper pomps and a bunch of whiting. Going to try it again in the morning at a different place in the park.

Great catch. I think I saw your boat at C Quarters the other day. It was an 18-foot red fisher with a 150 hp yammy. If that was yours, I bet that thing will fly. I have a 16-foot red fisher with a 90 hp yammy and she will move.
The pompano are heading back south now. The water is cooling down, so the pomp fishing should pick up. Many good reports coming from Pensacola. So they are headed back south now.
I’ve only used lures for so long that I’ve forgotten how to use live bait! What is everyone using to target redfish? A long time ago a bait store recommended mud minnows, I didn’t have any luck. Shrimp just seems to get a lout of trout/cats/bait fish for me.
