Re: 2nd Hand St. George Report

I was down there this weekend towards the west and didn't see anyone catching much of anything on Saturday. On Sunday, I caught some whiting, tons of catfish, and a bonnethead shark. The folks fishing around me didn't catch any pompano either, maybe we were just in the wrong spot.

Re: BigBendFishing.Net Social 2008 Sign Up

Haven't been on a boat since October, haven't seen anyone from the Forum since last February, sure, I'll be there. I'll check back later to see what is still needed, and will probably also bring a sack of oysters.

St. George Island (general update)

Just an FYI, no surprises I'm sure, but the surf fishing on the south side of the island is very quiet right now. An occasional whiting may wander by, but that's about it, just too cold I'm guessing. Flounders and a red every now-and-then are on the bay side by the bars when there's enough water, wh...

Re: Lanark 12/31

Hey Nole, did you put in at the foot of the bridge on SGI on the morning of 12/31? I was on my way back from Eastpoint and thought I saw a familiar boat and face.

St. George Island, 10.12.07

Skag and I went down to SGI on Thurday night, watched the Noles lose over oysters and beverages at Teaches, up Friday morning to try our luck. Put in at the second ramp in the State park and it was blowing HARD. Instead of testing out the Whaler's positive flotation and the abilities of the bilge pu...

I fished there about 5 years ago in July, stayed on Ambergris Caye (San Pedro). Two days tarpon fishing on the ocean side, two days tarpon/bone/permit fishing and fly fishing on the sound side. All of it was incredible. I used guides recommended by the manager of my $28/night hotel (Coral Beach Hote...

Try a bit of fresh cilantro in the garlic butter for the corn next time, very tasty.
