How can you tell if they have worms without cleaning them?
We kept the ones on Sunday and cut into them. That’s why we didn’t bother to keep them on Monday.

Had no idea. We found this one in about 3 feet of water.

I had no idea. We usually do catch and release. Maybe once or twice a year we actually keep the fish. This was the first time they seemed to be full of them.

Grouper in the Rock Garden

My buddy caught a grouper over in the Rock Garden today. Was this a fluke or do they troll the flats around here from time to time? We were both shocked when he got it in the boat. We were expecting it to be a red. We pretty much scratched our heads, took a few pics, and sent it back on its way.

Re: Smooth Puffers

Glad to hear I’m not the only one. Are they an invasive species? I’ve been throwing them back in the water.

Will check back in to see how it goes geofish lol. Good luck!

Smooth Puffers

What’s the deal with all of the smooth puffers at St Marks recently? I have never caught this species until this year. I didn’t even know what type of fish it was until I looked them up online. I came to BBF.net to see if others were running into the same problem. Those things destroy my artificial ...

Re: St marks 4-8-17

We caught plenty of trout on Saturday. I would say one out of every five were in the slot. Didn't find them until around high tide. My buddy would kill me if I told, but we weren't in the river.

Re: Best spinning Reel for +-$120

Thanks for the post! I'm done Christmas shopping for my father now. Picked him up a new NASCI 3000 from Kevin's yesterday. I fish with a STRADIC, but I'm jealous for some reason... Thinking I may have to go back and get one for myself.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for responding! Gary, I voted for you just so I could meet you to hear some of your stories. However, I think he's interested in the one from Reelsorry2.

Thanks again guys!

Small Outboard Engine Wanted

I have a buddy who's looking for a small outboard engine. He purchased a small flat back canoe the other day. He's looking for roughly 4-5 hp. I know he's looking for a used one, but I'm sure he would be open to suggestions on new ones. From looking around on the Internet, it looks like other surrou...

Navy Testing

Came across this article earlier today.... Curious what everyone's thoughts are about the testing? I fully support our military, but it can't be good for the marine life in that area. Glad they're not testing in the Gulf! http://www.cbsnews.com/news/florida-earthquakes-navy-10000-pound-bombs/ Sent f...

Saturday Fishing

Anyone have any luck today? It was a beautiful day until the wind picked up this afternoon. Caught a handful of trout on the flats when the wind wasn't blowing from the north. Chased a few reds, but they didn't want anything to do with us. Not sure if I will fish tomorrow. Looks like Jordan Spieth i...

Re: Skunked but tried

I'm in the same boat. Fished St Marks two Saturdays ago and yesterday. We were skunked both times. Thought we were doing everything right, but no success. I know of a guy through a buddy who has been catching some of the biggest reds that I have seen out of the area. I haven't fished my whole life, ...
