Re:Update Seized Deck Latch
This project has turned out to be a lot worse than expected. The seized latch must be quenched and hardened stainless steel, I burnt up a 21v cordless Dewalt trying to drill it out. To make things worse this latch seized on one of the rod boxes with my favorite shimano Calcutta reel and St. Croix ...

Re: Seized Deck Latch
Thanks for the input guys. My latch is seized with the door shut. I am scared to put heat on it, don't want to get into the gelcoat/fiberglass and getting any type of lubricant behind it doesn't seem possible.

Seized Deck Latch
Has anybody on here ever replaced a seized deck latch and how did you remove the seized latch? I am thinking that drilling the old seized latch out is the only way. Any suggestions?

Re: How do you fish for reds??
I second the aqua dream gold spoon, slow retrieve just above the bottom and bumping an oyster bar. The redfish magic spinner bait is another go to lure for reds. I like to change out the blade to a larger gold willow leaf style blade.

Re: Checking In For A Report
Didn't mean to ruffle anybodys feathers with the AL comment, but when you are born in AL you don't have much of a choice. I do have some FSU ties, my father is an alum and mother is a Bowden. The trout bite around Orange Beach has been scarce, the last report i got was that the bite has been better ...

Checking In For A Report
I recently moved from Tallahassee back to a state that wins championships (Alabama) and haven't fished inshore since July. However, I am planning on loading up and hauling the ole scout down to do some fall fishing the last full week of October with my dad. When I lived there I typically fished ...

Re: Legal Trout
I fish only artificial, primarily with a Mirrolure Lil John soft plastic. I fish it with a weighted hook, no jig head. I'm not complaining about catching short trout, better to catch short trout than no trout at all. I was just curious if short trout have been the norm this year.

Legal Trout
Lately I have been fishing the flats south of Piney Island and around the St Marks Lighthouse and have struggled to catch legal trout. It seems that for every 15 - 20 short trout I will catch 1 legal trout. Is anybody else experiencing this same thing? Does anybody have a report from the shoals?

Re: Fish Finders / GPS combo, which one do you use and why?
I just recently purchased the Vision G2 Blue Chart for my Garmin and I can't tell that it has enhanced my maps or bottom contours. Has anybody else had this problem? Any suggestions? I fish mainly inshore.

Did you catch those on live bait or artificial? I tried it all.

Was I wrong?
Today I guessed that as the day warmed up it would push fish out of the creeks and rivers but apparently I guessed wrong. I fished the oyster bars going into spring creek and caught one very short redfish. I had all intentions of going up in the ochlocknee river to fish but ended up second guessing ...

Re: NFGFC - February 6th 2016 Kickoff Tourney!!
Could someone share more information about what the NFGFC has to offer a family of 4 (myself, wife, son & daughter)? As I've mentioned previously in my post I am new to the area, been here a little over a year now, and love to fish but have had a hard time finding someone willing to fish with. I ...
