Fished in the bay east of the lighthouse. Low tide, lots of floating grass. Fished in 2-5 feet of water. Caught several small trout on Gulp and popn' cork. Top water and suspending lures dragged in grass. Buddy caught a sail cat and two legal trout, 15 and 17 inchers.

Re: Anyone yaking yet?

Bought a used Hobie Revolution 13 a few months ago. Haven't used it yet, but plan to. Only places I 'm familiar with to put in is the Lighthouse and Wakulla beach. Going out in a boat tomorrow with my wife.

Re: Dicks Sporting Goods

I don't care if Dick's Sporting Goods is giving stuff away for free. Dick's doesn't exist to me. Shop at American sporting goods stores. You know, the ones that believe in the U.S. Constitution and our freedoms.

If your leader blows his horn, you might not get cutoff. :) Have your guides keep a lookout too. :D

Where's FWC?

I was in my kayak at the ST Marks/Wakulla rivers on MLK Day, Jan 16, 2017. Lots of boaters ignoring the no wake zone to include a commercial crabbing boat. Not a single FWC officer in sight. But I do see FWC officers around during the week when things are slow. Get out there and enforce the law FWC!

Re: Rant on Shields Marina UPDATED

This has nothing to do with Shields Marina shop, but I have been launching my boat from their dock for a couple years now. For the longest time the cleats on the dock have been broken. I am wondering who maintains the dock? Is it Shield's property? Where does my $5.00 go? Why haven't they fixed the ...

My Apalachee Bay fishing report, Aug 20, 2016

Caught an 18" Spanish Mackeral at the Trout Grounds on a live shrimp and a clacker float. A shark followed it to the boat and, at first, I thought I had the shark hooked. No trout. It was sooooooooo hot on the water. Water was flat as glass all morning and early afternoon. That's all folks.

I have the EchoMap54DV. I'm always losing depth reading at full throttle. If you don't mind and have time, please post a photo of your transducer mounted. Thank you.

Re: Motor won't stay up

Update: Went to Parkway Marine. Fred said they don't replace seals. I have two choices. Replace the entire lift unit for $2700.00 or try replacing the check valve. Replacing the entire lift unit is out of the question. I'd use that money towards a new motor if I chose. I'm gonna try bleeding it agai...
