Re: good Morning 7-27
Morning, Blue Spinner. I see your post regularly and enjoy them. Where do you launch from? I am taking the wife out this week morning , headed to St Marks. Curious if that's where you fish out of and if the 8 to 10 ft and colors you mentioned would be good for there?

Re: Fish Fryer recomendations??
I like the Bayou Classic. Mid level burner so the crumbs fall below the heat and don't scorch. Oil stays cleaner longer!

Marinate for a few hrs. in Zesty Italian dressing. Sprinkle on some Old Bay & Tony Chachere's Creole seasoning, grill directly over coals. Brush on mixture of fresh lemon juice, butter & any other spices you like.

Re: Thursday from the Lighthouse
Thanks for the replies. I will keep the buoy line in mind. I have been going out past the sand bar and rack before running east or west. When moving in towards shore to fish I just idle or use trolling motor. Thanks again.

Re: Thursday from the Lighthouse
New to fishing out of St Marks. I have read several posts talking about the rock garden. Is this the area around grey mare? If not, where "generally " is it located? Thanks in advance for any info. I usually am only able to make it down about once a month so my learning curve is proving to be quite ...

Re: Gander Mountain Reportedly Prepping for Bankruptcy
Academy Sports isn't all that either. I received a rod holder as a Christmas gift ( the round carousel type). When I went to put it together, 2 of the wood pieces were severely warped. One had a crack in it. I called the store in Valdosta and asked about exchanging for another one. Asked about if ...

Re: Ochlocknee River
Are you referring to the trestle way upriver with that little launch ramp up by the Crooked River? I have heard that you can get stripers right in front of that old bridge in the deep pool. Wonder if that is still true?

Re: Ochlocknee River
We were on the river Thanksgiving weekend and there were people catching Reds at the landing beside the trussel. Also had a friend that caught a bunch of pups between the trussel and the first bend down river. I have found the river and the bay area to be alot more finicky than St Marks or Keaton ...

Keaton Beach 10 /15
Got on the water about 8am . Fished towards Rock Island and got a 4 person limit of trout and 1 20 in . redfish. Caught 3 short reds and a bunch of short trout. Threw back 8 to 10 that were barely 15. Most were caught in 5 to 6 ft on a diverse collection of gulp. White and chartreuse, new penny, new ...

Re: bald point flats
Fished Bald Point this morning, caught only one keeper and several lady fish. Did see a school of 8 to 10 large Tarpon swim by the boat several times. They looked huge but that's the first time I have ever seen any.

Keaton Beach 4/23
Got on the water about 7. Caught fish pretty steady all day. Mostly in 4 to 6ft. Threw back lots of barely legal trout but was still able to get a 4 person limit. Bit practically anything with white.

We ate some sail cats Saturday night. Soaked them in a lil brine water for a couple of hours and fried them up. Didn't remove the red strip and they were great tasting.

Fished Friday afternoon and Saturday around the back of the bay and the mouth of the Ochlockonee river and creek mouths in the same area. Don't know what I'm doing but did manage a keeper Red. Even a blind squirrel will find a nut occasionally.
