Re: This forum is dead
Thanks for the west flats and creeks report. Great to read that someone is catching fish. And, most important, you took the time to report. We should all follow your example.

Re: When you find them
Thank you for taking the time to give us an update on your winter fishing trips. It is hard to get out with the first of the year activities and the cold. I was considering trying the Aucilla River. One time we went and stopped by JR's for see if he had any shrimp. It was cold and windy. He looked a...

Re: Are the good times really over?..
Good morning Mr. Beard and thanks for "sparking" us to discuss the place that so many of us love and enjoy. I appreciate your saving the earth at the coast and I assume everywhere attitude. If not me, who will pick it up, clean it up and save it up for the future. For my forty plus years o...

Re: St marks 7/6
Thanks for sharing your day at St. Marks and beyond. The paddle tail experience tells us to empty the tackle box trying different baits and seeing what "they" want today. Good post; keep em coning.

East of Grey Mare
We went to the Lighthouse landing about 7;30 to launch and head east, hoping the wind would be a little calmer: NOT. But we did get more familiar with Grey Mare and surrounding area. Cast our way toward shore and went up a creek to get out of the wind and see if any fish were around. Turned a corner...

Re: water color
The coffee is still brewing east of the lighthouse. Went up a creek and the coffee was strong and black; no cream and I didn't taste it for sugar. Water temp was 83 and even in the creek the wind was pushing us around. Did catch supper. Hope this helps.

Don't you just love it when a Zebco 33 comes through. That is a great fish and a great memory for your young fishman. Thanks for taking him fishing and thank him of letting her go.

Get some reports started
Finally got the skiff out of the shop with a brand new outboard. So, of course we had to try it out on the flats. Went last Friday to the Light House and put in about 11:00 am. The tide was rising and there was already plenty of water to launch and motor out. Our first stop was just past the light h...

Re: St Marks 12/24
Thanks for the post. It sounds like you had a great time catching the verity pack. If you were using light tackle, those sheepsheads were probably the biggest fight of the day. Like an old friend said one time, you could hardly manage a 5 pound brim they fight so hard, and you did with that bigger s...

Bottom's Road 10-26-21
Have an ole buddy in from Texas who wanted to catch a red fish. We loaded the skiff and headed out to Panacea. Got some bait and ice and drove out to Bottom's Road. Got there about 7:30am and motored to the outside of Piney Island to fish the shoreline. Had barely settled in when a red (we think) to...
