Re: How far from shore is the St. Marks stake line?
For what its worth, charts use the high water mark for measurement reference, if you look at the Navionics chart on the "Charts" page it will show you where the 3 NM line is, roughly about two miles past the #1 channel marker. Bit off the water, but if it's traffic you're wanting to avoid, you like living off the beaten path, AND IF SCHOOLS (and impact on resale) aren't a concern my vote would be (and has twice been :-) ) on the Lloyd/Waukeenah/Wacissa area. Most of the housing lies just above the flat coastal plains so ...

This question ought to get some posts. Help me move!
I mentioned in my introduction post that I might be losing my house in Panama City to imminent domain in the next year or two. My wife and I have discussed at great length where we want to move and we have narrowed it down to somewhere between Yankeetown and Carrabelle. My budget will be around 200k ...

Welcome aboard! Good to hear your wife likes to fish. Mine does as well and she is my best fishing partner. Thanks for your military service. I was in submarines stationed at Key West back in the late 50's and early 60's. Wouldn't take nothing for my experiences and wouldn't give a dime for anymore ...

Welcome! I am a "foreign" member from N GA, but get to ST Marks a good bit and really enjoy this group - unlike some forums, friendly and helpful folks without a lot of BS.
Hate to hear about your imminent domain issue, that sucks. I sure hope the gubament gives you a very real value ...

Re: Carolina Skiff water in hull
Remember your Carolina Skiff is made of dozens of individual cells of foam approximately 4 inches by 4 inches. Each cell is independent of the cells next to it.
