As part of the release of the new Costa Jose PROs sunglasses, Costa Films debuted this video of the late, great Capt. Jose Wejebe of Spanish Fly/Florida Keys fame. It is very well done.

Re: Bonefish in Apalachee Bay
Great catch, Jim. There have been a few caught in the Panhandle as well. Speculation is they were moved up here by Hurricane Ian. The water temperatures keep edging up, so that could be a factor, too. Either way, it's an usual and fun accomplishment.

Re: Boat Flooring Question -
Steve,
You may have already made a decision/purchase, but I will throw this out there. Not a fan of the Seadeck or knock-offs, at least on the poling platform. The texture won't allow you to slide your feet like you can on non-skid. Difficult to clean, too. I would not put it on another boat.

Interesting comment. I've always respected you and your posts. I did spend a day with Burgess and didn't see the type of behavior you call out. I know a ton of guides in Montana and have high expectations of them and their etiquette. I can tell a good guide versus a suck guide. Perhaps Burgess ...

Re: Tarpon Fishing
Burgess can certainly "teach" someone how to run by on plane within a push pole length of someone else up on the poling platform, sight-fishing. Guess he was out that day they taught flats etiquette.

Re: 2022 CCA STAR Tournament
There you go. Imagine catching a tagged red after May 28 and not being registered. You'd miss out on thousands of dollars of prizes, including a choice of three boat, trailer, outboard packages. Think it can't happen here? RockyG won a 22 Pathfinder five years ago when he caught the first tagged red ...

Re: No Reports???
Numerous studies have shown that fish held vertically by the jaw by hand or a gripper device can suffer internal damage when their organs all smash down together. They are used to being horizontal and buoyant in water. It's kind of like if someone hung you dangling by the ankles upside down.

Re: No Reports???
Nice pix, Captain.
You might want to coach your anglers into supporting all fish to be released horizontally to avoid internal damage to their organs.

Re: Fishing the wind
The ramp at Shell Point is another option. You can go east or west depending on wind direction. The public ramp in Panacea will also put you in close proximity of Dickinson and Levy Bays, with plenty of oyster bars and structure that hold fish on occasion.
