Re: Exceptional Firearms Auction, 11/21

Long day. The auction was still going about 7 pm last night. Hundreds of very interesting firearms sold. A Parker .410 shotgun went for $24,000. Well out of my price range. Plenty of Winchester lever action rifles, Mausers, S&W revolvers and Colt 1911 .45s, too.

Re: Storm Eta

Original National Hurricane Center prediction was pretty close. Glad it lost strength and there was no major damage on the coast. Still having an impact on the peninsula and will dump rain but we got lucky on the Big Bend.

Re: Storm Eta

Now the latest composite models are mostly showing it coming ashore around Crystal River/Cedar Key and cutting across the state. Subject to change, of course.

Re: Storm Eta

This has been a record storm season and every single one that made landfall has come in stronger than originally predicted. Better to err on the side of caution.

Hoping the weather guessers get it wrong this time and Apalachee Bay doesn't get a huge dump of rain/surge.

Storm Eta

Latest cone from the National Hurricane Center shows center of Tropical Storm Eta coming in around Steinhatchee or Suwannee after midnight on Friday. Not good, especially when every one this season has strengthened significantly right before landfall. Hope it defies the odds this time. Looks like fi...

Re: Engine Fire

I was fishing on a 43 Viking 60 miles off Cape May, New Jersey during a tournament when an electrical fire started in the galley. There were no other boats in sight. I ran the boat while the owner and crew isolated the circuit and cut power, taking care of it. Very uneasy feeling, for sure. Glad you...

Flatsbroke22's gator trout certainly qualifies.
