Thanx, thought it was just me.
Even though they're more heavily fished, I have more luck on StMarks reef, Rotary, Wakulla DZ and Barge 24. When I grow up I'm gonna find me some more private numbers

Re: Visiting from Jacksonville, FL
Cold weather's pushing the trout up into deeper holes on the rivers. Use small #1 hooks with shrimp for sheepshead around docks & pilings

Any life on Wakulla Big Bend reef?
Occasionally when time is limited and I want to go just a little farther than St Marks reef I run an extra 3 miles south to the Wakulla Big Bend reef. Beautiful matrix-looking grouper cubes on the side scan, but I don't believe I've ever caught a grouper there. Have others had more luck there, or is...

Re: St. Marks 12/13
I was there too. They were hitting everything from shrimp to cut mullet to gulp shrimp, but my "catch 'em on every cast " bait was a fat grey gulp minnow on a chartreuse jig head.
Might be different tomorrow, but on that day they were hangry

Re: St. Marks River
Sunday the fog was socked in till noon. I caught under-slot reds up in the East River and then found a gaggle of boats and schools of trout busting up bait just off the channel at marker 42. They were hitting shrimp and cut bait a bit, but once I tried a fat grey gulp minnow on a chartreuse jig head...

Re: Econfina 12/11
Cool, I built one too & enjoyed the woodworking as much as the canoeing. Haven't tried it on the rivers yet, just lakes. As for bait, yesterday the trout were schooled up in the St Marks and in a feeding frenzy about 2 pm. You could catch them on almost anything, but a gray thick Gulp minnow on ...

Re: Suzuki vs. Yamaha
I repowered last year with a zuki 200. The 2k savings over Yamaha let me add a jack plate to the wahoo. I've been very pleased with the whole package.

New trick for grouper
I caught this seafood platter from 18 to 35 feet of water waiting for the fog to burn off & the wind to die down (never did). I didn't catch my usual load of pinfish for the livewell, so I tried cutbait, squid, etc. What did the trick for this 28 inch gag was a white z-man chatterbait with a gre...
