It’s funny how many fish are on Turtle Towers and won’t bite. I dove it a couple times and it’s a great dive. I saw probably well over 100 Gags. They were all to small and the big ones didn’t stick around. Those fish see lines all day from bay boats going out 9 miles to the “secret spot.”

I seem to find them to the SW in around 90 feet. I also look at a large ball on the sonar up about 30ft or so.

If you fish offshore they are a constant problem. They have overtaken most major wrecks.

That reel has an incredible amount of drag. We have pulled up Goliath
Grouper and large sharks with it. The Pen jigging rod is a great rod and for the budget rod I would go with the Ugly Stick jigging rod.

That’s an interesting concept. I attribute catching good bsb to good bottom. If your a diver you can see them when you on good bottom. Next season when I dive I will try to see if lots of bsb corispond with no keepers.

But imo bsb taste better than Grouper. Each fillet is perfectly fried sized ...

I may be interested, I will start diving this year here soon. I am hesitant to go spear with people I don’t know but maybe we can get a couple guys here together who are interested and maybe get some beers first. I also like to dive weekdays.
