Taking scallops from St Andrews bay. And the PSJ season doesn't open until 8-17.

According to FWC it is not legal.

I looked it up and yes there is a small commercial calico scallop fishery on the east coast.

I was in Publix the other day and noticed they had FL bay scallops for $12 a Lb. The per Lb count was 100-150 scallops. For that cost I'd catch then, release them at the end of the day and pay the $12 at Publix just so I don't have to clean 100 plus scallops.

You certainly wont catch them from the couch, give it your best shot and it will certainly be better than staying home !

Thanks for all the replies, I will get back in to moving mode again once I can get my place in West Palm cleaned up.Its day four with out electric and water. The house is fine, but the yard looks like a bomb went off, not a single tree without damage.

We are moving to Crawfordville, hopefully soon, the plan was put a Mobile home on The land, but have considered building. The wife is afraid of the hurricane reprecussions with a mobile home.
