Re: Tripletail?

I've yet to see a single boat fishing pots or any markers for that matter so far... You must not be looking. Every line from st marks to ochlockonee bay had at least one boat on it last Saturday, mostly by pontoon boats running all over the pots. I didn't go west, but there certainly weren't any I ...

Re: Garmin GPSMap 441s w/ transducer - $100

Does it have current charts on it? Honestly, I have no idea what charts are on it. Unfortunately it's been uninstalled from the boat for a couple of months now and I don't have easy access to a current power supply for it. Boat was from the Pensacola area so I presume it has basic gulf charts anyway.

SOLD Garmin GPSMap 441s w/ transducer - $100

I have a Garmin GPSMap 441s sitting in my garage that came with my boat when I bought it. Works perfectly. Comes with transducer and power cable. It has a 4-inch color display with split-screen GPS/sonar mode. Ready to fish. Perfect little set up for a small boat or kayak on the cheap. Don't have pi...

5+ miles offshore of Dog Island is a good place to start.

Re: 5/25 St Marks

Spanish were in the 20" range. Mostly singles or doubles though, didn't see any schools.

5/25 St Marks

Spent the day running around checking hard bottom in the 25ft range due south of the lighthouse. Visibility was top to bottom, could see the structure from the boat. Water at the surface was 85. Nothing to shoot but spanish mackerel everywhere we checked. Didn't see a grouper or cobia all day. Tried...

Re: Suggestions for getting wired to tow?

If your vehicle is less than ~10yrs old, it should be a simply case of ordering a $40 or so kit and plugging it into a harness somewhere in the rear. Easy peasy. Just plug your make/model/year in on a site like https://www.etrailer.com/ and they'll show you exactly what you need. I've put hitches an...

Send them your old fabric to use as a template, get a new Sunbrella replacement for under $200. Mine came out great.

Re: 5/16 St Marks Reef / Dog Ballard

Ha, that was us at St Marks reef with the dive flag up, and then drifting near you at Dog Ballard later in the day. Recognize the boat in your sig. We heard you guys over there "woooo!"-ing a couple of times, figured you must have been on the cobes. You've definitely been having a lot more...

5/16 St Marks Reef / Dog Ballard

Ran out to St Marks Reef just after sunrise, hit a few different pieces of the structure with squid, menhaden and live pinfish. Only managed to snag a couple of remoras and a very large stingray. Jumped in and swam around a bit, managed to find and shoot one keeper gag. Moved out towards Dog Ballard...

5/11 St Marks flats

Tried to go offshore around 6:30am out of St Marks but wind was worse than forecasted and as soon as we got beyond the Birdrack the rollers were 3-4ft with a short period. Too much to risk running all the way out to the reefs and it getting any worse in my boat. We trolled the surface a bit back tow...

Unicorn leatherjacket is a variety of filefish. Quite popular as sashimi in Japan.
