Lead acid cant hold a candle to lithium when it comes to running a trolling motor. You wont be able to draw it down despite your best efforts.

New Lithium Battery for Sale-SOLD

Brand new 12Volt 50ah Lithium Epoch battery for sale. Bought in April and only used it a couple of times. I decided to switch to a 24v setup and don't have the boat space to run two in a series, so need to get a new 24v one. Really great battery and ran the trolling motor all weekend without needing...

Re: ST Marks NWR buying Flint Rock WMA?

If I am remembering my history correctly, St. Marks NWR was started in part to protect the migratory waterfowl that used to flock to the area. Goose hunting used to be outstanding in our area is my understanding, duck hunting as well. St. Marks was created to protect a safe haven from the waterfowl...

Re: Amberjack

1 how do you tell the difference? 2. Are lesser AJs caught around here? In 70 ft deep water? 3. Why can't they put cell tower equipment on the Air Force towers? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk Lesser AJ's typically don't get above 20in. Given you mentioned being above 25", I'd say it's no...

Re: Boat Flooring Question -

I went a different route on my alweld. I'm not the cleanest boat owner and didn't like how gross the seadek/turf stuff would get. Super comfy on the feet, but I was worried about mud/grass/slime/fish bits, and whatever would be deposited on the floor while fishing or throwing a net. I went with Inte...

Re: T-Top vs. Bimini

Agree with the comments, but think it's worth adding that depending on your model a bimini top is pretty easy to remove. I fish a lot out of my boat, and when I do, the bimini top stays at home (gets in the way otherwise). However, when I have the kids and the dog, it comes back up. Mine only has tw...

Re: Aluminum vs Fiberglass for our area

Started with aluminum, switched to fiberglass, and immediately regretted the decision. I was so paranoid about hitting something that switched right back to aluminum. Now I could care less about bumping rocks, bars, etc. I've had my 16' aluminum boat for 8 years now, and never had one regret about s...

Re: Snook

Got a question? Are there regulations on Snook that apply to our area? If so what are they? If caught one would love to know if could keep it . Thanks :-D We follow the general Gulf Snook fishing regulations, which are closed from Dec. 1-end of February and May 1-Aug. 31 (direct copy from FWC). Why...

Re: Trolling strategies

Spent many years trolling in south Florida for pelagics, and always kept it in gear. Wouldn't go into neutral until the fish had been hooked for a bit and I knew it wasn't coming off. But even then, the transition to neutral is important, as you should very slowly ease into neutral (don't slam it). ...

Re: St. Marks River at Newport

I've never had a problem with that ramp at anything other than low tide. Even then, it's fine, but you have to watch your trailer tires. Unless we've had a lot of rain (which is nearly every day this summer), it is usually clear enough to see the end of the ramp during low. I guess if you have a big...

Re: Blue Ridge Guide

Thanks for all the suggestions. Thinking about staying closer to BlueRidge. Anyone fish the Noontootla or Toccoa? Looking at an outfit like this https://www.ontheflyexc.com/fly-fishing-rivers/ Only fished that way a few times, usually fish the Chestatee, Hooch, or tribs of the Savannah. Don't have ...

Re: Blue Ridge Guide

Watching :pop_1 Yeah, I didn't mean any offense by that comment, but after looking at it not my best moment. The Soque hardly has a single native fish species left because of the insane amount of stocked trout. It is also 303d listed in the state for a laundry list of biological impairments. While ...

Call Jimmy Harris with Unicoi outfitters out of Helen (http://www.unicoioutfitters.com/). They are awesome and do lots of different types of trips. Tell Jimmy what you wanting to do and he can point you in the right direction. Personally, I'd float the Hooch but if want to catch a ton of giant slimy...

Looks like a hogchocker. Very common species found throughout coastal Florida. 3 inches is about their max size.

Re: Trailer tire pressure?

I also run around 35-40 pressure for both my truck and trailer for the same reason BBB mentioned. Tires can wear funny for all sorts of reasons, but over/underinflated tires can be one of them. I used to run a very light and small tailer at 50lbs and I noticed the center was wearing faster than the ...
