Great report. I would love to see pictures from the trip, especially pictures of the big alligator munching on the smaller one.

I now feel ashamed and embarrassed for using a popping cork.

Hairface, I am using a GoProHhero 10 set to take 5.3 K video at 30 frames per second. I pull still shots from the videos.

Jigs will get you for sure, funny how it's always a red grouper gaggle that doubles up on the jig. Makes me wish I had went on the trip I was invited on the 24th but having to put in a new drain field and a new driveway probably would have been a bit much when I'm going in a week :-D

Yep, real life experience and real data trumps “scientific” estimates every time. I am hopeful that the regulators start caring enough to prioritize getting better data for establishing gag grouper regulations.
