On Friday, a friend texted me, “Do you want to go inshore fishing tomorrow out of St. Marks.” I eagerly said, “Yes.” I had been wanting to fish offshore in my boat, but the winds had been whipping up 3 to 5 foot seas for the last 2 weeks. Not my kind of fishing conditions. The next day, I mostly sat ...

Re: Limited-Out on Red Grouper in Carrabelle on March 21, 2026
Braining is interesting concept….
When we spearfish, its great to hit the brain or spine, fish doesnt go nuts and draw in sharks…..
The trade off is the fillets wonts ever firm up , even on good ice…
Cleaning a fish that has been stone is like filleting a bag of worms…
Oh well better than losing ...

Re: Limited-Out on Red Grouper in Carrabelle on March 21, 2026
Thanks for the report. Those are some quality red grouper.
Along those lines, every fish, except one that I screwed up, went through the full ikejime process to ensure the flesh is of the highest quality. Yes, most of my fishing buddies think I’m nuts until they see the process, taste the fish ...

Re: Limited-Out on Red Grouper in Carrabelle on March 21, 2026
A good time, except for the fuel bill, I see we should have ran out to 90ft to find the fire trucks.
Yes, we burned a lot of gas and the fuel bill was more painful than normal.
Anyway, according to my fishy math/economics, we did great. I like to think that each one of those red grouper ...

Limited-Out on Red Grouper in Carrabelle on March 21, 2026
Carrabelle--With a break in both work and weather, I finally got to run the boat again. Because we were fairly successful last March between S Tower and the 20 Fathom Break, we followed more or less the same plan.
We headed from the Carrabelle River to East Pass, and then miles beyond the pass, we ...

The Tallahassee Boat Show in Pictures
We'll it ain't the Miami International Boat Show. But there must be at least 100 boats for sale at the North Florida Fair Grounds today and tomorrow. The boat brands represented include Robalo, Cobia, Parker, Contender, Sportsman, Pathfinder, Pheonix, Tidewater, G3, Benington, and more. I suspect ...
