Here are some additional underwater pictures from my fishing trip on December 26, 2025. I can’t wait for work and weather to give me another opportunity to get out on the water.

Carrabelle Offshore Fishing and the Catch Cam 2000
On Christmas Day, I don’t know what everyone else was thinking about, but I was thinking about fishing. The marine forecast for the day after Christmas called for warm weather with light winds and calm-as-a-bathtub seas. And red snapper would still be legal to keep.

Re: What size boat?
Remember every boat is a compromise. It’s not just about length. If you want to fish offshore primarily, you will want a longer boat, with a deeper-V, and higher gunnels/sides. All these features will work against you if you want to fish in shallow water. A bay boat can fish in kinda shallow water ...

Outstanding. I love all the pictures. What are the yellow and orange things next to your hooks? Colored weights, beads?

Re: Late November Fishing for Red Snapper, Red Grouper, and Hogfish
Wow, sounds like an incredible day on the water, What’s your favorite method for keeping brined shrimp on the hook, and do you think it would improve your hogfish catch? Also, how do you decide which spots to try first when the fish are being unpredictable? patta chitta

Re: Late November Fishing for Red Snapper, Red Grouper, and Hogfish
The pattern over the last few
Years , at
Least in the fall, is to have isolated sow snapper in shallower. The small
Ones in the 100 ft plus…. Dont know if this it their
Range or not.
When we dive 55-75….
Neve more than 2 RS on a spot, usually one… but they aee big like yours.

Baitfish Rig
I saw these shrimp rigs near the Sabiki rigs at Walmart the other day. I intend to try them, but the hooks are much larger than the hooks on Sabiki rigs that I usually use for cigar minnows. Has anyone tried these shrimp rigs? What do they catch? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20251215 ...

Re: Late November Fishing for Red Snapper, Red Grouper, and Hogfish
Always a great report! Went a couple weeks ago with a friend out of Appalach. Fished in 250 feet. Caught plenty of Red Snapper-some big ones, 2 scamp, 1 red grouper, and plenty of really nice gags. Yall had a great day!
Thanks for the comment. I’d love to get out to 250’ again, but that won’t ...

Late November Fishing for Red Snapper, Red Grouper, and Hogfish
It was foggy last Friday, November 21, 2025, as we launched the boat at Carrabelle. Visibility was 200 yards, tops. With wind from the south, I expected the fog to lift once we passed through East Pass. Until then, we proceeded with just enough speed to get on plane, and everyone watched for things ...
