Here are some additional underwater pictures from my fishing trip on December 26, 2025. I can’t wait for work and weather to give me another opportunity to get out on the water.

On Christmas Day, I don’t know what everyone else was thinking about, but I was thinking about fishing. The marine forecast for the day after Christmas called for warm weather with light winds and calm-as-a-bathtub seas. And red snapper would still be legal to keep.

Remember every boat is a compromise. It’s not just about length. If you want to fish offshore primarily, you will want a longer boat, with a deeper-V, and higher gunnels/sides. All these features will work against you if you want to fish in shallow water. A bay boat can fish in kinda shallow water ...

Always a great report! Went a couple weeks ago with a friend out of Appalach. Fished in 250 feet. Caught plenty of Red Snapper-some big ones, 2 scamp, 1 red grouper, and plenty of really nice gags. Yall had a great day!
