Like a Bucket of Water to the Face While Fishing for Red Snapper and Red Grouper on July 31, 2025
Lucky me. I have friends who wanted fish for red snapper out of Carrabelle yesterday. It was windy and rough, but it was also the last day to keep red snapper until September. As we slowly headed south from East Pass into a quartering head sea, the boat would knock a wave up and the wind would blow ...

Hot July Day of Fishing for Red Snapper and Red Grouper
On Sunday, July 27, 2025, four of us picked up the boat from Martin Marine and launched it from Carrabelle. We were on another mission to try to load the cooler with red snapper and red grouper.
Running through East Pass, we aimed the boat at the spot where we caught Atlantic bumper on prior trips ...

Successful Day of Fishing for Red Snapper and Red Grouper on July 19, 2025
Last Saturday, July 19, 2025, we launched the boat from Carrabelle. Our plan was to catch bait and then head beyond S Tower for red grouper and red snapper.
For bait, we headed to an area in about 40-45’ where we found Atlantic bumper on a prior trip. I knew we had found them when the sonar screen ...

Re: Grouper. And Snapper ????
Ok, thanks...guess I will continue to look in that area...didn't know if water temp would drive them deeper
Sometimes I think we're in the right place but at the wrong time. It could be the tides, temp, time of day, lunar phase, or sharks. Also try hanging snapper baits 20-50 feet off the ...

Most of our fish were caught in the same depth range in which you fished, but some may have been caught shallower.T00fd0c wrote: July 21st, 2025, 10:01 pm Thanks for the reply....do you mind sharing how deep you were catching the red snapper

Grouper. And Snapper ????
New guy,
I was fishing the same general area you were fishing on Saturday, and we had a better than average day.
If you are new to fishing the Big Bend area, you may be still looking for your honey holes. Finding them on Saturday morning would have been difficult because the tide was very weak ...

Nice haul. What is your goto hook. I have been trying Daiichi 84Z 7/0, VMC Tournament 8/0, and Owner reef and rig 9/0. All about the same footprint. The Daichi's are good but the tip crinkles and does not punch through. The shark in the pic is a bull with the rounded head. Sandbars are pretty ...
