Eightwt, how was the water clarity on the bay side?

It was like a mudhole at Wakulla beach on Tuesday.

Caught a nice 24” redfish around the oyster bar on a top water lure. Saw one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen and also watched the blood moon rise on the water. I could have stayed all night.

Might be heading to shell point after work for a few hours with the yak. Got skunked last trip, so I need some retribution.

I like fishing the bay side of Cape San Blas. It was calm and clear when I was there a few months ago.

We have been skunked plenty of times. We put out at blue dolphin ramp yesterday around 6:15 and worked our way around to the big oyster bar on the right. Wife caught 2 cats and I got skunked. Wind was pretty bad though.

They wahoo isn't as open as I was looking for. I don't need a hatch up front. I would rather have and open area. Most of the yaks I have and have owned were bought used with the exception of my last one. I was at walmart (of all places) and they had a 12' yak that I wasn't familiar with for over $50...

The wife and I took a last minute trip to Shell Point after work with the kayaks. We put in at the beach at about 6:45 and fished East of the channel. Water was a little rough, but not so bad that our anchors couldn't hold. Ended up with a couple keeper trout, a nice Spanish mackerel, and a few lady...

I have a couple of longer 12' yaks, but am looking at picking up a shorter lighter one. I like having my fish cooler up front and prefer to have a yak with an open area up front. I am not against one of the better brands, but it would have to have the correct layout and fit within my budget.

Anybody have an Ascend 10t kayak? I'm looking for opinions, pros/cons etc... I am thinking about looking for one to use as an alternative to my 12 footer.

I know the Walmart in Crawfordville sells it. Might want to call the Tallahassee one's to check.

I ended up picking up the used setup and a couple of top water lures. I need a LOT more practice, but am not as horrible as I first was. I have yet to catch anything on it, but the wind had been a factor a lot of times that I have been out also.
