Lower Unit
As I mentioned in my inshore fishing report. I was victimized by the rock garden. There was a rising tide and it appeared I hit some rocks that were slightly submerged. The result was a mangled prop and the lower unit portion that hangs below the prop being pretty much eaten away....

St. Marks 10/29/4
Launched from the LH at 3:00 p.m. to catch a rising tide. Strategy was to go as far east as possible to find clearer water. Saw mullet jumping everywhere about 1/2 mile west of Grey Mare. Stopped south of the furious activity and drifted. My partner immediately catches a 20 inch trout. Int...
No particular place. Since my schedule hasn't permitted me to fish much locally. I promised myself that I would make time during any trip (work or personal) to take a fishing charter. I have gone out of Sebastian, Jensen Beach, St. Augustine and Tarpon Springs. I prefer half day trips and I expect t...
Charters
I've been on only 4 charters in my life (2 offshore and 2 river) and I wanted to know what expectations or things more experienced people may look for during the experience.

Sebastian Inlet - 8/27
Just got back in town last night so here goes... Went out with Voyager Fishing Charters leaving from Capt. Hiram's restaraunt. Seas were less than 2 ft and we were on a 52 foot boat. Went east about 8 miles to a reef. The captain fails to give us his name or instructions. There was no deck hand or f...

Towers
Been doing a lot of dreaming about my next boat and wanted to get individual thoughts on towers with full controls. I don't see much of it here. Fishing the flats of St. Marks and limited offshore seemed like it would be perfect fit for that type of rig. I have been looking at the Dorado 23 Pro Guid...

I was about to post my trip from yesterday, but I read your post and it was almost identical to your experience. Left LH at 7 AM and returned 12:30 PM. We picked up only one keeper trout in the East River and was pleasently surprised when the water got calmer as we left the river. I set up a drift h...

I grew up in Vero Beach and fished the Inlet quite a few times. Fish the North Jetty. I know people that fish the South but they aren't too successful. Don't fish in the inlet. (too rocky). Also, don't fish directly under the bridge unless you see people catching fish. Fish the typical two hours bef...
