The advice gets better and better! Captain Charlie an email is on the way and I am going to check out Rivers. I enjoy going in there verus the sterile feel of Sports Authority or Oshman's. When I buy stuff from Rivers I feel like I have a better chance to catch some fish. I am crazy or what?

Thanks for the advice. I pretty much did what everybody suggested. I drifted on the east flats and then went west and anchored in the channel of Patty Island casting shallow and working toward the channel. I saw a lot of fish on the finder, but no takers. It appears to be a tough time of the year. I...

St. Marks 6/25/04 Plenty of Fishing

Unfortunately, no catching! Left the LH around 7:30 a.m. Headed east to a grassy area to pick up pinfish since Jerry's didn't have any shrimp. Up until 10:30 stayed between 3 - 5 ft. of water (gin clear). Nothing major. One small trout lost at the boat. Headed around Patty's Island and anchored in 9...

Anyone have a suggestion on where to buy and the proper size and weight? I am interested in catching bait fish in the flats. Let me add that I have never thrown one either. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Oh. I am just trying to get every edge I can because I thought I knew how to fish until I start fishing the flats. Only thing I have limited out of is patience.

I was thinking more on the lines of this http://www.fishing-catalog.com/gloryhol ... denoil.htm

A fish oil dispenser with a slow drip leading them to your boat like the Pied Piper.

What a difference a few hours make! I was out too on Friday. Wanted to get on the water by 1:30 p.m, but didn't get on the water until 3:30 p.m. because of that little thing called work got in the way. Doc, I fished the same area of water (3-6 ft) drifted east through the garden and whatever I had i...

Yes it was gorgeous. Does anyone use their fishfinder in the flats? I never see any fish on it. Do you just pick a spot and start fishing and see what happen? It seems the best approach is to definitely drift.
