What did you catch the strippers on? Im going to Apalachicola River in a few weeks and still havent caught one.
Green one and five-dollar bills, tucked into G-strings. I would probably end up saving money going that route instead of a boat, gas, gear, etc!

Re: Strangest catch.
I caught a boot once...luckily there wasnt a foot in it. That is awesome that it cleaned up so well.

Got out early. Had luck early fishing points of oyster bars in St. Marks river. Caught 19" redfish and some undersized ones. Moved a little further out and had the same deal. Ended up with plenty of trout and one flounder. Definitely had to move to find them but once I found them I could sit there ...

Re: Apalachicola River
Thank you for the information! Talking to the river keeper is a great idea.

Apalachicola River
Anybody have any boatimg and/or fishing tips for Apalachicola River? We are gonna run the river from the dam to the coast in early december. We have smaller skiffs. None of us have been on the river before. Are there hazards, shallow areas, marked channel, etc? We may loop up into the dead lakes as ...

I took the day off and went out of St. marks around 10am. Caught a limit of trout and two smaller black drum in the first hour. Trout bite was hot but they were all right around 15". I kept the few 16" that were mixed in. They were hitting paddle tails and top water and were caught in the mouth of ...

Panga
Anyone own a panga or have any experience with them? If so, what are your thoughts? Is it a comfortable ride? Easy to fish with multiple anglers? Stuff like that.
They seem like a good hull but the beam is a bit skinny.

Re: St. Marks 5/3
We did lose one plug on structure but we got rocked up fishing with live bait on the bottom. We caught grouper on live bait and plugs but it seemed like the plugs were better.

St. Marks 5/3
Stopped for pinfish near the bird cage and picked up an 18" trout. Headed off shore to some public numbers. We picked up three nice flounder. We caught a half dozen or more grouper but the closest to a keeper was 21". We caught most grouper trolling plugs and even picked up a 28" cobia on a plug ...

Re: New proposed trout regulations
I went to the workshop in Tally and the two main points were close it in winter (jan and/or feb) and a lower limit.
New regs dont really bother me as I never keep more than one or two fish anyways unless I go offshore.
They are taking comments on Flounder as well.

Re: Status of Mashes Sands Boat Ramp?
The mashes sands ramp didn't seem remotely close to being done this past weekend.
Also, I got stuck several years ago at the bridge ramp pulling a 14' whaler with my old jeep that was on 33" mud tires...luckily I had a winch. I haven't launched there since but might give it a go while the other ...
