Preferred retrieve rate for lures

I'm picking out a new baitcaster (curado K) and there are several options for gear ratio. There is not a lot of information out there on optimal retrieve speeds for different baits. Do you guys have a preference on gear ratio ( or more specifically, retrieved inches per crank) for topwater vs. paddl...

Re: Yellowflies

For the Yellow Flies I boat a lot & have a place on the St Marks. My wife swells up & hurts if a Yellow Fly bites her. I found out several years ago, by accident, that Austrian Gold sunscreen works GREAT for more than sun protection!!!! I use 30 or 50spf but I don't think that matters. I ha...

Re: Forecast is wrong!!!

I took the kayak out to HM yesterday and struck out except for a few sail cats. Live shrimp under a popper, paddle tails, spook Jr, gold spoon... Nothing was attractive to them. The fresh water was flowing fast, making the turbidity high (brown coke colored water) and a north wind was blowing steady...

Re: Family friendly Charter

I was not aware of the six person limit, which makes a lot of sense now. We may have to go the two boat route.

Family friendly Charter

I have some family coming into town late June and they want to go fishing. We'll have 4 adults and 4 kids ages 5-10 and prefer inshore (reds, trout, flounder). Can anyone recommend a charter that can accommodate that size of a group? Most of the ones I've found online can't accommodate more than 6. ...

Re: First trip in a kayak

I stayed dry, mostly. Had to get my paddle and technique adjusted so I didn't drop water on myself every stroke. I also had to pee at one point and started to pee off the boat, but I decided against it and just paddled to a 1' spot and stepped out. I've seen videos of guys doing jumping jacks in thi...

First trip in a kayak

I purchased a Feelfree Lure 13.5 a few weeks ago and finally had a chance to take it out today. This was my first time in a kayak since summer camp as a kid (~25 years), so there was precisely one objective today, don't flip over. I launched out of the lighthouse shortly after sunrise and and spent ...

Ideal fishing conditions for Apalachee Bay

Obligatory the best time to go fishing is when you can.... Also obligatory you can catch fish anytime regardless of x, y, and z... If you are looking at options to go fishing, specific to Apalachee Bay, what are the conditions you really look for? Of course, this will be species specific, but let's ...

Where to buy Buckwheat and clay pea seed

I have a patch of acidic Sandy soil I'd like to start improving and drawing deer to. Plan is to plant and disc in when it blooms to get some organic material in the soil.

Called around several places in Wakulla and nobody carries it in stock.

Very cool channels everyone! Thank you for sharing.

I found a video featuring kayak fishing in Panacea and Robert Baker here:

Local YouTube channels or other media

Are there any local(ish) content creators or channels that you guys recommend?

I've really enjoyed Salt Strong and Tackle Advisor, but looking to expand beyond the bigger channels.
