Re: Help, I got skunked on red snapper yesterday.
My wife gave me a Christmas gift many, many years ago that had the moon phases and fishforecasts on it. It went up to four fishes. If you saw four fish, you needed to be in the boat and ready to collect. Unfortunatly, like your six fish day, I can count on one hand when it actually worked that way ...

Re: Airboats in the St. Marks Refuge.
I can't tell you the number of times I've cut the motor on my skiff and poles to the spot I knew held fish outside a creek, or by the bars and some jack rabbit blows thru and cuts in front of me. Honestly, it's been the decked out sniffs with powerlines etc. More often than not, with the occasional ...

Re: Airboats in the St. Marks Refuge.
I will agree with you concerning the people who flagrantly violate the laws. I'm sure you've heard the stories about people renting at keaton getting 10 gallons of scallops in the morning and going back out for 10 more in the afternoon. People keeping undersized fish. I get it, but I'd much rather ...

Re: Airboats in the St. Marks Refuge.
Sounds like a plan. And I can complain about all the GA boaters who come down for their recreation, tying up the ramps and parking, or maybe all the scallopers who tear up the grass, and the list goes on. Sick of everybody complaining about what everybody else does or doesn't do. Airboats are loud ...

Re: Is everybody fishing 10/22 or are that many UMass fans coming to Tallahassee
UMass may be our first win at this rate. I'd hate to miss it. For some reason I woke up optimistically believing we could pull something off today against Louisville, its halftime and I'm only optimistic that I do not have enough beer to get me thru to the end.

Re: Another one that got away
If it has to get off, I at least want to see it. I hate to lose a good fish and never know what it was. I didn't know small kings could have yellow spits either, I would have assumed big Spanish. Thanks for the lesson and report.

Re: Flats Are On Fire
Great report and pix RB. Lots of good info. Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately we both know that grass is only gonna get thicker floating thru the rest of the summer. Tight lines.

Re: Hagen's Cove kayaking
Glad you had a good trip. How was the floating grass. I was fishing the week before last off of Spring Warrior and had to fish around it. Surprised to see that much this early.
Re: Don't get gas at the sunoco in Woodville for awhile
I appreciate the heads up and didn't see it as an attack on a business. Same thing happened to me a few years back taking the amily on vacation to the mountains. Got out of town after filling up and truck started skipping and running bad. We managed to salvage the trip, but it was a bad start. Ive ...

Do NOT follow the advice of the captain's of the bass boat or pontoon offshore to grouper fish.

Report and a Question
Launched from Spring Warrior yesterday, the 11th and fished the rising tide from 6 foot to the shore line. We used soft plastics with and without corks, and a Redfin. It was surprisingly slow at all depths. The trout we caught were in the 16 to 18" range and I caught a 15" flounder, but had to work ...
