Re: This forum is dead

I agree! I had not seen any posts in such a long time I even reached out to the site moderator to see if it was still viable ( course never heard from them either). Realize it may not be the best time of the year with weather but you know there are some hardy souls that are venturing out and when th...

Re: St. Marks??

Well, my son, grandson ,and I did make it to St. Marks yesterday. Got boat in water about 9:30 and tried slow trolling some swim baits as we headed towards mouth of river, no luck. Not many boats in river maybe 10 or so. We next tried the insides of several bars at river mouth same results so headed...

Re: St. Marks??

200 views and no replies, know it’s not necessarily peak season but surely someone has wet a hook. I ended up not being able to make it but my son and a friend went. Wind was apparently gusting 20+ easy so trolling and anchoring tuff. They showed fish stacked up in deep holes but those wouldn’t bite...

St. Marks??

Son and I hoping to maybe try the river at St. Mark’s tomorrow if the rain passes as supposed to. Has anybody been giving it a shot? Have any fish made it into the river? Just not that familiar with St Marks as living in Georgia just not down there often. We did go last year later in season and tore...

Re: St. George Island Fishing

Awesome, we will try some dawn topwater especially if they still issue a yearly pass to state park which used to give you access to the gate code so you can get your boat in the water before sunrise. I’d rather catch one on topwater than 10 any other way. And if you are staying on the east end of is...

St. George Island Fishing

We are headed to St. George Island Saturday for a week of sun n fun, grouper sandwiches at Blue Parrot, and steamed shrimp at the Indian Pass. When not feeding my face or enjoying a cold one or two plan on doing some fishing probably most in the bay behind the state park and maybe try to run some bu...

Re: Triple Tail in the Bay

We headed to St. George next Saturday for week for family vacation but taking bay boat for some trout n redfishing in the bay. I’d love to try n hook up w a triple tail but no experience w that. Re: Triple Tail in the Bay

Awesome, great day! We headed for St. George Island 6/3 for a week and will definitely try the buoys as I’ve never caught a triple tail. We ate some filets ( hate to admit I bought) last summer and they were delicious.

Re: Keys Question

Wow! Thx for going to the trouble of looking that guide up and great timing as gonna try to make my Dry Tortuga ferry reservations today and start working backwards from there for rest of trip so I’ll give him a holler and since we talking bout 5 months out may be able to hook up ( literally I hope)...

Re: Keys Question

Yeah, I’m actually trying to” build” our trip around going to Dry Tortuga. That’s been on my bucket list for quite a while. Probably revisit/snorkel at Pennecamp, where we camped with our sons 25+ years ago and basically wander our way south with idea of staying in Key West just long enough for the ...

Keys Question

Realize that this ain’t a Big Bend question but figured with all you fishing folks out there I’d pose it. My wife n I planning to revisit the Keys this Fall by car, hoping to see pretty water, sightsee, snorkel some n maybe try to fish one day. That said, does anyone out there have a guide/service s...

Steinhatchee 5/1-5/5/23

My wife and I just returned from a few days fishing ( notice I didn’t say catching) at Steinhatchee. Arrived Monday to 20-35 mph wind’s directly out of the west so did put the boat in the water but NEVER considered leaving the dock. Tuesday dawned much better and we headed W to around Clay/Dallus cr...

Re: Get some reports started

I agree! Sure wish folks would post/reply more. Don’t think anyone is looking to “steal” any spots and we all know that fishermen, including me, are liars but I’m assuming that lotsa folks just want to vicariously share experiences. And some like me live hundreds of miles from St. Marks or Steinhatc...

Any St. Marks Reports?

Am headed to Bainbridge, Ga. from Augusta to help babysit a 3 yr and 1 month old grandson while their dad goes to the Masters for couple of days. If the weather cooperates and schedule allows I may try to slip away for a short day trip to St. Marks. Does anyone have any recent reports that they migh...

Re: Crystal River Shallow Water Grouper

We have a Garmin Echomap plus 74sv but gotta admit we fish 99+% of the time in water 1-4 feet deep so mainly use the navigation capabilities and not the bottom reading. I don’t mind hiring a guide but it’s so much more satisfying to try and figure out new places.
