Does anyone know about a training exercise at St. Marks on Tuesday? We happened to drive by the boat ramp by the old fort, I keep it right on the boat but it would have freaked me out had I navigated on by maybe seven high powered boats and 25 officers! :D 8)

Re: Fog
I launched at the lighthouse during a low tide last week - could barely see 200' - oyster bars in the East River would become visible through the mist like mountain ranges. Boat traffic was practically non-existent which is fortunate since sound can be hard to interpret in the fog.

Missing Boater Located on St. Vincent Island
You all probably saw this but what a scary story. It seems a boat capsized near West Pass late Thursday and very fortunately was located on St.Vincent Island this morning. I sure as heck would not want to spend a cold, wet night along the shoreline there. The bugs and and who knows what wild ...

Re: The flats are heating up and cooling off!
Went out 11/1 2021. Headed east of the lighthouse and stopped at a close flat while waiting for the tide to get in. Picked up a couple of short trout, bite was very slow.
Headed to a hump about two miles from the party bar. Found excellent water clarity. Approximately 6 feet visibility with very ...

Re: Bottom's Road 10-26-21
Have an ole buddy in from Texas who wanted to catch a red fish. We loaded the skiff and headed out to Panacea. Got some bait and ice and drove out to Bottom's Road. Got there about 7:30am and motored to the outside of Piney Island to fish the shoreline. Had barely settled in when a red (we think ...

Great suggestion. There were multiple people crabbing the two or three times I've been out there not that it's easy to get out there!

Re: East Point fishing
I didn't get all the way around to the East Point channel, but coming out of Indian Creek into the bay was very shallow. I couldn't find a deeper spot so I just idled out about 300 yards until I got in deeper water.
So much to see in that area! In a dream summer a few years ago we had access to ...
