Jmay, when trying to catch pinfish, I use a number 6 hook and then I cut a single piece of the fishbites in to 5 smaller pieced. For pinfish the smaller pieces is a must. They are unable to eat the larger ones. I now use a rig that has the 1/2 to 1oz sinker on the bottom then 3 dropper loops 12 inch...

Dog Island Reef?
Would someone please advise exactly where this is. I would not ask for non-public numbers, but since this one is mentioned in the Florida Sportsman "Weekend Forecast", I would guess it is a know spot.
Any help much appreciated.

Water Temps
Here is a couple of sites.
http://www.insidesportfishing.com/SST/S ... ID=1&ID=12
Only works when there is a clear sky. Clouds block the Sats.

First, AGM batteries are not Gel Batteries. The AGM stands for Absorbed Glass Mat. Second, they are the only trolling motor batteries on my boat. Had a Grp 31 on my last boat and actually trolled for Crappie two days (that is about 18 hours) on a single charge. Just got my new boat with a MinnKota R...

I ran across this location awhile back. Seems to be right on but since I live quit aways from the gulf, I am not able to verify. :( Maybe you guys could check it against what you see on the water. What I like is projection every 3 hours for the next 5 days. :) http://www.coastwx.com/frames/model/wav...

From the two knots you mentioned, I would go with the Uni. If you like the cinch or the improved cinch, then you might want to look at the Trilene Knot. http://www.fishsa.com/kntiestl.htm My personal favorite is the Pitzen Knot, which is very easy to tie, but is virtually impossible to diagram.

Fish were caught in the state park. As I could have told you 6 months ago, the weather did not cooperate while I was there, but became just plain beautiful as I was leaving. Don't have 4 wheel drive so East Pass is not an option without the boat. Took a test ride in a Twin Vee 19 Baycat while I was ...

Went to St. George Island last week just in time for the wind and rain. Decided since I could not go out in the boat, I was going to the beach. My father in law went with me. He caught the first fish, a 16 inch blue. He was using shrimp, I was using Fishbites. From that point on, the bites (no pun i...
