How was the river channel? Are the markers still accurate? Any new areas where it has silted in?

I've never had a set of rubber flap scuppers that didn't leak, especially when launching the boat. My solution has been to keep drain plugs in the scupper holes from inside the boat. If I get some water on board (rain or rogue wave), I just pull the plugs, jump on plane, drain the water, then replac...

Thanks, Tod. That's what I thought. I guess it's 263 to 27 north or around the dam at lake Talquin to get back to Bainbridge. Sure do wish they's put in an alternate on that side of town.

shortcut??

...trying to bypass the bypass. From Crawfordville to Midway, there appears to be a way to keep from getting on 263. There's a road on the map connecting Springhill road and hwy 20, however it has three different names: NF-305, J.B. Clark Road, and Silver Lake Road. Does anybody know if this road ex...

Shell Point 05-04-05

Only had time to fish for about an hour. Put in at high tide, ran out to the flats. Wind 20 kts out of the NE, took one wave over the transom, not good, headed back in close. Anchored in 4 ft between two oyster bars. Hooked 10 redfish, landed 7, kept one at 22". Used live shrimp and a cajun thu...

I helped a friend bring this boat up from the Keys to Port St Joe a couple of summers ago. http://www.forumpictureprocessor.com/pictureprocessor/images/alby.jpg We started to cut across the gulf from Tampa to Appalach, but didn't feel like we had enough boat under us for the conditions present. Woun...

Carrabelle 04-22-05

Two of us squeezed in a quick trip before the front arrived. Ran out to 110' on flat seas. No bait at the O or the S. Immediately boxed 4 RS, then nothing but shorts. Worked our way back in picking up a couple of 25" gags and one more 20" snapper. Headed back and was met by 20 kt SW wind a...

OK, I'm skeered! :o I was thinking Econfina to get out of the east wind, plus I've got to run down to Perry anyhow. Might work my way back west to more framiliar waters before I wet a hook.
