Re: Steinhatchee 5/5-6
We fished Steinhatchee the last two Saturdays of April, only one keeper trout. I’m not real familiar with the area so that is some of the issue. But I think the cooler nights we had throughout April has them staging differently than normal. Had a buddy that fished Keaton a few weeks ago, said they f...

Re: Spanish Macks
I fished the flats at Steinhatchee the last two Saturdays, didn’t catch or see any Spanish, did catch or hook a ton of lady fish. We fished out to about 10’. We were not targeting them so could be there and didn’t catch them.

Storing rods while trailering?
I have a question and thought I would poll you guys for your opinions. When I trailer my boat I always lay my rods in the bottom deck of the boat. I don’t like the idea of them in the vertical rod holders, always afraid something would hit them, or they would get bugs on them. I don’t have horizonta...

Steinhatchee 4/22/23
Took my two daughters to Steinhatchee to pre-fish for the tournament next week. First all day trip for my 10 yo, and just another trip for my 16 yo. Well, the fishing was slow for us, only left with one trout, one flounder and one bluefish. Caught some small trout but not a lot. Tried different area...

Re: Renewing your fishing line - Question
Because mono is pretty cheap, I would just replace it. Not worth losing some fish to broken line, and much easier to swap it at home than on the water. But I mostly use braid now, and it does last a lot longer.

Re: Public Service Announcement - Walmart Fishing Licenses
I always have bought mine online off my phone, then I take a screenshot of the license and save it to my phone.

Re: AT & T Vs. Verizon
I have Verizon and my daughter has ATT, always seems like when I run out of service or really low signal, her service is fine and works well. I don’t know if it’s the actual signal or how busy the network is. My experience is mostly SW Georgia and some areas like Keaton and Tallahassee.

Re: T-Top vs. Bimini
I have a bimini top that goes on the boat when the family is on the boat or if fishing July through August. It’s usually only two of us fishing, and with the Bimini up it’s not really in the way and provides a lot of shade when needed. I do agree a T-top would provide a lot more utility such as rod ...

Re: Fishing the wind
Sometimes I will travel to fish higher winds. If the winds are strong out of the west I try to fish the Carrabelle/Lanark areas, that way the wind is coming off land and the chop won’t be so bad. strong winds out of the east, I fish Keaton Beach area. Sting north winds you can fish St. Mark’s/Aucill...
