I have done a ton of fishing in freshwater out of an 11" canoe. It is wide and more stable than your average canoe. But paddling it can take quite an effort....whew! :o I usually do a float down with it, or fish a small pond. But still my back aches bad. Is the kayak a more comfortable rig? Is ...

Had to get out and go, knew the wind was gail force. And it did indeed hamper the fishing, but got to boat ride some.

Exactly what I was thinking about the double jackplate.

Don't know if all that would be less than buying some parts and converting to a short shaft.

Will check on that monday.

Boy....that would be one fast bullet boat with a 40hp! :o

Ok, so a jackplate with trim and tilt would cost what? Verses buying some used parts if I could find them. What parts exactly? Wevans would that T&T thing you have jackplate it too? Also the boat is a alumacraft allwelded 1542 John. I was told by the local dealer that it could hold a 40hp, thoug...
