Re: Tripletail late July - Alligator Point
I just went with a guide last week out of St George. The big ones are on the west side of the bridge to St George. I think it has something to do with the river water right there. The west side is where they concentrate. Fads are put out and marked by guides. You would need a flat bay to just ride ...

Re: Trophy-sized sailcats!
I know that the guides put a lot of effort into putting attractors out and marking them on gps. I went with a guide last year and it was choppy and would be almost impossible to find any if not marked on gps. I did see some with a 1'x1' piece of plywood about a foot under the buoy. The shrimp boats ...

Re: Econfina River - first time advice
I fish out of Ecofina a lot. Get the map "Top Spot" and that should help. Go early out to 5' and put a pinfish under a cork. Rocks are marked at the mouth with buoys. There are a couple going out not marked so stay in the middle mostly. Try to go out in no less than a 1' low tide. Catch'em!

Re: Keaton Beach Shark Attack
I saw a video someone took in the same area a few days before the attack. It was a 8-9' bull shark, and the water is clear. Last I read was she still has her leg, but she is critical.

Tripletail fishing
So are they showing up around St Marks area? I hear that Appalach is the hot area for them, just wondering if they show up from St Marks to AP?
Figure to try it, just dont know where yet. With the summer heat I figure this kind of fishing will keep you on the move.

Re: Aluminum vs Fiberglass for our area
I have used both. I still use a jon for winter around Aucilla. I really like the FG ride compared to the bounce and beating from running a CC aluminum.
I have a shallow enough draft in the Action Craft, its a cool surface in the hot sun. Yes there is a little more maintenance.
Once a year I ...

Re: Thoughts on chartplotter/sonar
I have the 94SV Plus I got a couple years ago. For me it is good, I know about FMT but I see a need for it if I was a tourney fisherman.
My Garmin showed a couple of rock piles very accurately in front of Stoney. It shows bars and pretty accurate shoeline/creeks.

My last trip to Mandalay I left the window down. Nothing in the truck to steal. I had heard they have been hitting parked trucks so what else to do?

So you were in the St Marks river, or out on the creeks off the flats?
Sounds great
