Snook

Nephew was fishing just north of Steinhatchee yesterday. He and friend limited out on trout and reds in a couple hours. He caught a snook that looked 28" to 30" from picture he texted me. Can't believe they're showing up this early.

Do a search on Truckee river. Great trout river but some of it is privately owned.
I think California and Nevada both stock it. I never have fished it but have traveled both ends of it.
Several fly shops in Reno or used to be. You could contact one of them for info on a guide.

Re: ST George Island--places to eat

We go to St George every month or so and always make sure to eat at the Family Restaurant in Eastpoint. It's right next to Barber Seafood. Prices are comparable to most other seafood restaurants in the area. It's as good as any seafood restaurant I've ever been to. It's right on 98 and parking someti...

Had one of those back in 80's. Caught a lot of fish between Aucilla and Spring Warrior out of it. Little boat took some pretty good water too which was good as I dont remember it having too much floatation in it. :o

Pompano

Don't post much anymore as I don't fish much anymore either. Health and age has just about shut me down me but thought I'd pass this on for general information . Went to St George last week and met an old business associate and his family who were down for the week. I didn't fish but they did nearly...

Re: A different kind of trout fishing for once

I’ve caught more trout on the Norfolk than any place I’ve ever fished. The white would run a close second. I was wading the white one morning and had a heart attack several years back. Haven’t been back since. In Arkansas, San Juan Worms and Green Butt Soft Hackles always worked best for me. Early i...

Re: A different kind of trout fishing for once

Grandson and I have been fishing the Soque for several years. He always fishes with the guide and catches the big ones . Couple years ago he caught one that guide said would weigh ten pounds plus.Must have fought the fish 20 minutes or so. I always fish a quiet pool as I’ve gotten too old to try to ...

Fished bayside of the cut this past weekend. Rat reds were all over the place. So were the sharks and catfish.

I had one 7-8 ft long come right up to the boat several years ago. During slack tide between Gray Mare and Cobb Rocks.. Made my 20' boat seem kinda small too.

Re: Who's going tommorrow?

Fished St Marks Tuesday afternoon and Wed. Nothing but Spanish Tue but three of us limited out Wed with about as good a box of fish as I've seen in a long time. Friend went back yesterday with his grandson and they limited by 10:30. Flats have definitely turned on. Noticed the pecan trees had starte...
