I know this may sound too simple, but cooking fillets in a cast iron skillet works great. Just put enough oil in the bottom to keep them from sticking, season the fish to your liking, and put them on the skillet. Get the skillet hot (not smoking...hot) before you add them. This will make the meat ho...

Fishing 7/5 - Early morning or late afternoon?
I'm going fishing tomorrow, but not sure when. The morning will be cooler, and I think the fish would be more willing to bite then, but I'd only be able to fish the outgoing tide. If I wait until the afternoon, I can fish both tides, and my hope would be the fish would bite before sundown. Any wisdo...

Beatswork, I thought I recognized that young man in the picture! I missed church too on Sunday...but I'm still healing up from that hernia surgery (ouch). I can't wait to get back on the water. Good write-up and I'm glad you had a good day. See you at church sometime. Actually, I agree with Just Fis...

Fishing 2nd day after a cold front
I went fishing Saturday on the flats and had a very memorable day with my two boys. We were catching alot of reds (19-22) and big trout. I have the itch to go fishing again tomorrow (Wed), but it is the 2nd day after a cold front. I've heard the fish don't return back to their normal feeding pattern...

Where is this oil coming from?
Hopefully, I will have a picture show up with this post. Does anyone know where this oil is coming from? Or better yet, what does it mean? It is coming from the area of a bolt (which you hopefully can see in the picture). None of the other bolts have any oil coming from them. I cannot see anything f...

Wild Fishing Video
Below is a link to a pretty wild fishing video. The fellows in the video sound like they are speaking spanish?, so I assume this is not in the USA. The fellows are in a boat at night, hitting the boat and flashing a light. Fish are jumping everywhere - watch the video until the end (where it gets he...
