You might want to try the channel coming out of Alligator Point Harbor or in the harbor. Watch for pelicans feeding on Ly's. Watch out for large sharks to

Mothers Day Fishing Trip

I feel lucky. My wife wanted to go fishing on mothers day. Sunday morning about 9 the family left the hill for Dog Island Reef. The mackerel bite was on. Everyone had a chance to catch 3 or 4 fish while trolling. The best one of the day was when Mom caught the line stripper pictured below on 10 lb ...

The Macks are back

After reading fishing reports I had to go. Launched the boat in front of the beach house at St. Teresa about 8:30 Sat. morning. Me and the wife started trolling about 8:50. The water was dirty. Couldn't see bottom in 4ft. My wife hooked up on the first mackerel after 10 minutes of trolling, A nice 4 ...

Redbelly,
Went fishing in the bay around the oyster bars and the 3/4 circle island twice last month. Caught plenty of trout both times. I have friends who catch Redfish all the time but they seem to elude me. When the water warms, Tarpan, Spainish, Sharks, and sailcats are abudant.

3/5 Alligator Point Harbor Fishing Report

Drinking to much and sleeping in Saturday paid off. Got a late start Saturday morning, 10:00 The 5 to 10 wind forecast was pushing 10+ and caused a change in plans. Rode up in the harbor to some oyster bars looking for reds or trout. 15 minutes of fishing and the first trout was in the cooler 15 ...

8) Just joined this forum. I've got 20 years of fishing for mackerel on Dog Island reef. The best thing to catch mackerel is a Captain Action. Use a #3 in the spring and a #5 in the summer and fall. I make my leaders 3 1/2 to 4ft with 50 to 80lb mono. After supper is caught, Drifting near baitfish ...
