Re: Strange Evinrude News

Not so strange. You can only make an inferior product for so long. My first outboard was a 5.5 Johnson Seahorse. It had a metal 6 gallon tank with a button on top that pressurized the tank to get fuel to the engine. It ran great as long as it was pointed away from the boat ramp. Turn around to go ho...

Re: Traffic Jam at Lanark Boat Club

I ran into Greenbone from this forum yesterday at Bass Pro Shops. He mentioned that they lost a diver out of St. Marks to the bends.

There's an older Procraft bass boat on Facebook Marketplace as well.

Re: ISO used bay/bass boat

All you guys with the deep pockets have a different boat for each type of fishing. Kind of like the bass fishermen with a different rod for every type of lure. I fished Tampa Bay for years out of a 1978 Skeeter bass boat with a 115 Mercury. Also fished local lakes, bass tournaments, and river...

Re: ISO used bay/bass boat

I am not sure of your buddy's budget. There's a 16 foot aluminum boat on Craigs List in Monticello that seems like a good deal. Craig's List has had a lot of scammers lately, but there are a few on there. Also some on Facebook Market place. My son Andrew just put a Yamaha on an old 17' Alumacraft ba...

Re: Shell Point

Good fishing starting off the long oyster bar directly out from Shell Pt. Beach and continuing toward Piney Isl. (West). All reachable by kayak. Do Not stringer your fish and drag them on your kayak that time of year unless you want a close encounter with a shark. Dog-walking topwater plugs, 3"...

Re: Salt Water Trolling Motor Recommendations

In my opinion, both the Motor Guides and the Minn Kota's with all the electronic boards are not worth what you pay for them. I have about 4 Minn Kota's stacked in the corner of my boat shed. They worked for a short time, then the boards began to go out. I replaced the boards for as long as the parts...

Re: What fish WON'T you eat?

I have tried to cook or make fish dip out of bluefish about 5 different times and will not put any more effort into it. Too many other good fish to eat.

Re: SONAR ISSUE

The bottom of your transducer has to stay in contact with the inside of the hull for it to work correctly. I haven't dealt with these in years, but we used to stick them down with fiberglass resin in the old days. You could not have any air bubbles in the resin, nor could you remove the transducer w...

Re: 90 Yamaha 2 Stroke Issues

anti siphon valve on your tank can cause this, it is a spring and ball located in the fitting on your tank where the fuel line hooks up. i took mine off and cut part of the spring off so as not to have as much spring pressure on the ball. solved my problem. this was on a 150 2 stroke. Just a though...

Re: Large Big Green Egg with Table

I actually cut oak firewood into small chunks and use my Egg after running out of charcoal in emergencies. Gas is for frying fish. Haven't tried a pellet grill.

Re: Large Big Green Egg with Table

Don't tell me you're going back to that gas grill in the background. If so, you been quarantined too long. :-D

If I didn't already have one, I would buy this from you. For those of you not familiar with the Big Green Egg, they cook amazing food and are very hard to find used.

Does anybody know if they actually moved the damn rocks they used to block the Econfina Ramp?

Thanks - Steve Stinson
