Re: Did some tarpon fishing Sat. and Sun.
Like I said, no worries. I really didn't think anything of it. There is plenty of water and plenty of fish out there. My fishing panties don't get bunched that easily. Unfortunately I won't be able to get out there for a little while so yall catch'em up and write about it so I can live vicario...

Re: Did some tarpon fishing Sat. and Sun.
Yep that was yall. I was that single fisher in the jon boat just to your west. No worries, yall weren't that close. I chuckled when I heard him holler, thought to myself: yeah, I'd prolly be hollerin like that too! So you got a bite on fly, did you get a bite on anything else? Question for the Tarpo...

Re: LAKE MUNSON- ST. MARKS
I am not surprised, lake Munson is tough. Every time we fish the banks/trees we come up empty handed or maybe catch one or two. Believe it or not we do best trolling small Rapala jerk baits towards the middle of the lake; The kind that look like little crank baits. Them "Bitsy minos" work ...

Re: Did some tarpon fishing Sat. and Sun.
Supa, I think I heard you buddy hollerin WOOHOO Tarpon on! Then I saw him jump. What's funny is I had been out there for several hours when this guy pulls in line and a few minutes later hooks up! Guess it just happens like that some times.... Glad someone got some poon action. Another thought, the ...

Did some tarpon fishing Sat. and Sun.
First time Tarpon fishing. Last week I had been talking to the guys on the fly fishing thread about catching them on a fly, so that was my plan for the weekend. Was out on the water both days at 6:30am. Got in place and started fishing by 7:00am. Immediately started seeing them roll all around me. A...

Re: Looking for some knowledge on tarpon
Thanks for the reply! Ok, just to clarify. You attach (15 to 20 pound) mono with loop. This loop is attached to the loop you have tied to the end of your fly line. This 15lbs line is only about 15" or so long? You then tie that to the shock tippet (60- 100 pounds) using a huffnegal or slim beau...

Re: Looking for some knowledge on tarpon
Thanks for the info guys, I do appreciate it. Guess I will go set up shop in a few places and see what happens. I see what you mean, if the leader were too thick the fly won't act right any how. Just have to TRY to be ginger with a lighter line. I've hear about "Bowing to the king", wonder...

Looking for some knowledge on tarpon
Read Reel Slow's post on tarpon the other day. Man that was great! That is the stuff I dream about. I've got all the gear to do it, just can't ever get my fishing buddy (the one with the boat) to target them with a fly. Couple questions, What would you recommend by way of leader and tippet to avoid ...
