Re: Econfina/Spring Warrior

I've seen several houses with "for rent" signs out front...call Bobby Stefanelli at the resort and ask. Everybody knows everybody else down there.

Re: FS FORUM ACCESS

I've been trying for two days to get in. It won't even let me change my password.

Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. I can only handle one forum at a time. If FS continues to suck...

Bob, How about some detailed information on Redfish behavior. This is a very closely studied gamefish and you should have no problem getting your hands on migratory, seasonal and spawning movements documented for both Gulf and Atlantic populations. Explain how a hard cold front affects them. Trace t...

I've never fished the Aucilla River. I was wondering if it is navigable upstream from Nutall Rise. If so, how far up can one go? Is there a ramp near the mouth of the river? I have a JetJon and hope to Bass Fish Sunday. Any other advice greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

Fished the Econfina yesterday but went upstream rather than down. The early low tide laid the banks of the river bare, and the full moon had this place looking like a Western PA trout stream. I had to literally climb out of the boat and pull it over rock riffles and fallen trees. Thankfully, its a m...

I've tried braid for bottom fishing. It's great if you can balance the tackle needed and the diameter and strength. For instance, a good bottom outfit for grouper in the big bend (for 25-70' of water) would include a levelwind reel with 35#test(+or-) down to the sinker. Replace that 35# mono with co...

I fished the upper Suwannee River near the music park yesterday. This is the lowest I've seen the river...ever. Went to four boat ramps before I could find enough water to get off the trailer. Got a few Suwannee Bass on crankbaits and beat up my trolling motor doing it. The Suwannee is basically &qu...

Cranfield, It's an interesting question you ask regarding "braided" lines vs. monofilament. Some salt water fisherman probably think braids are too easy to see in really clear water. They may be right. I have found that there are a few problems with some of them. They are not the best choi...

That's Great Dewya! Tunnies are such great fighters on light tackle that you just WISH you could eat them. I've actually tried a couple of times to smoke 'em, marinate 'em, etc. Jacks are a delicacy in comparison!

Very cold early, 5 building to 10 kt from NE. Saw very few boats in the river. Threw topwater over grass/potholes just to burn some time 'till the bottom of the tide. Sight fished for reds most of the day. Got 18 fish from 22"-27" on jerk worms and shallow shad raps. Released all but one (...
