Yamaha's web site has owners manuals to 98' they say 25:1 during break in then 100:1. Personally I have an older Evenrude 6 horse that says 100:1 and I use 50:1 just to keeps things lubed good.

You can spot gray mare because part actually sticks out of the water. To get up to it at low tide you need a skinny boat, it gets about 2 ft or less. Another feature in that area are the bomb craters, my understanding is that area was used as a bombing test area back in WWII. Cruising through the ar...

Thanks for the suggestion Chalk. Went and got a gear puller, longest I could find. To short and even if it was long enough the ends that would go around the thrust washer would not have fit between the lower unit housing and the washer :smt013 Try to find a different one tomorrow.

Thrust washer stuck

Pulled my prop to do some routine maintenance and found that the thrust washer is stuck. Its a 96 Johnson 112 and the thrust washer is the large metal washer behind the prop. Tried some corrosion x and a rubber malet to no avail. Any suggestions?

Yeah, this pic is from the following weekend after not getting the boat started. Cleaned battery terminals and it cranked but barely. New battery and all is good. I am changing the foot oil tomorrow and that pic you had has me scared, hope mine doesn't look like milk.
