re
sorry about that Tin, I haven't been online in a while...
I'm not entirely sure on how to measure it, the shaft jutting up from the mounting plate on the top of the foot (the exposed section) is 17.75" and the shaft from tip to where I would PRESUME the gearing is is approx. 30". So, going by common ...

Mariner lower unit for sale
I have the foot from a 70's model 28 Mariner which died. The unit is in perfect condition aside from a few minor scratches on the skeg. Comes with a painted steel prop (not attached). I also have the starter from it which also works fine. Call me and we can work out a price.

Update
Lanark=Decent
Scallops are fairly thin and hard to spot in the grass, but are already pretty sizeable. Don't worry about the bag limit!
My take (three snorkelers all morning) was about fifty scallops or about a fifth of a quart jar shucked.

Re
Lot's of large sharks around Lanark.
I went scalloping at Lanark and there's enough people in tight enough groups and enough boats in the shallows that the sharks (and the sizable fish) have shipped out to return in September. Scallops are decent, but thin and hard to spot in the long grass-don't ...

Re:
St. Marks=Bupkis
Spent all day freediving and scubadiving for a grand total of ONE SCALLOP. Needless to say he was released.
We went to the flats all over the place depths ranging from 2' to 11.' Anyone know of a place near St. Marks that's having a good turnout?

Re
I know I can get one that cheap, but I can do just fine with a used fiberglass one at maybe half the price. I'm thinking if someone turned in their old fiberglass one for one of those expensive top-of-the-line ones they may want to make a few bucks from it. This is something I'm just going to try ...

Re
We went inshore in St. Marks on Sunday, it wasn't bad at all (perhaps better than usual) due to White Trash Bash at Dog Island. Did have to contend with the crowds at the boat ramp, but it was still a lot better most of the day (though we DID hit the water at 4:00 in the morning, btw we weren't the ...

Red Grouper
We pulled up an 8 pound Red Grouper on a Stretch 30 at St. Marks last weekend. The fillets turned out allright, but the tough skin, tough meat, and thick bones made it very difficult. Does anyone know an easy way to fillet one? By the way, we DID know to avoid the plate behind their head!
